To all active spartans,
This is a forum dedicated to finding the best, the rarest, the coolest looking armor in all of halo 5.
So if you think you found the best armor set, or even armor combination, just post it below
also to check out my current armor just look here saltyjack3329
You realize that armor serves no function other than aesthetics and the “best” armor is completely up to everyone’s individual opinion right?

I’m sure when he asked what we thought were the “coolest looking” armor sets he was referring to aesthetics, yes.
Anyway, OP, I was wearing Nightfall helmet, Gallows visor (Buck’s green), with Foehammer armor; Coal primary & seconday (Foehammer has cool orange details). But I just unlocked the bright gold Vandal visor, so I took the opportunity to wear Chief’s cracked visor helmet with CIO armor, which looks remarkably similar to his current armor set (not the Halo 3 era Mark VI, nothing against that set, just wanted to use this one to go with the cracked visor). Coal primary & Burnt Sienna secondary (since there’s no green anywhere close to resembling Sage or Olive for some weird reason). Here’s a screenshot.
Though I just unlocked the Hellcat helmet, which in case you didn’t know is inspired by the helmets worn by the ancient human warriors who battled the Forerunners we see in the Halo 4 terminals, so I may have to wear that a bit since it’s pretty cool, but it doesn’t have a visor and I’m really diggin’ this gold visor.
Without a doubt Noble, since it’s one of the few functional-looking armours that fits the traditional Halo design philosophy. It’s a clean design, without the mess of details that plague most of 343i’s designs.
Of course, this is because it’s taken directly from Reach (with a few modifications), which has the best armour design.
In close second, you have Heliosrkill and Centurion, as well as Mark VI [Gen1], though I’m not a huge fan of the changes they made to that last one.
I like the classic Mark VI. But if Mark V comes out I’m switching over to that in a heartbeat.

Oh yeah! That and the Mark IV, which we’ve already seen

If it’s the Halo Wars Mark IV - HELL YES!
If it’s the Halo Reach Mark IV - HELL NO!
Hey what do you guys think of the pathfinder armor (both helmet and armor) with a matrix visor,
Check it out in my profile saltyjack3329 and tell me what you think

It’s the Halo Wars Mark IV. We never saw the base model Mark IV in Halo Reach either, only a couple of variants (Grenadier, Security, CQC). The armour in Reach was the Mark V**.**

Yeah, i loved that armor**
Couldn’t care less about armor. It’s like you’re a 5-yr old girl playing dress-up Barbie with your Spartan. Now if the armor actually DID something then that wold be a different matter. One of the things I liked about Destiny was you chose your armor by it’s abilities and your play style.

While i did like that about destiny, i think that sometimes certain armor was just to op, or made your game play style to centered around beating another type of gameplay
The upcoming mk IV takes the win for me, Centurion is also awesome…any of the armors from the campaign spartans look awesome. But there are some truly ugly legendary helmets out there, towards the end of the collections list.

I thought Destiny did a decent job of keeping it balanced. I was never a shotty player but could hold my own with pistols. Armor also had counter-balances in place so you couldn’t rely on any one piece to dominate. Also, it added variety to the game as opposed to the same vanilla play style in games like Halo 5.
But what’s the appeal of armor in Halo 5? It does nothing for you and it’s not like you’re running around looking at what people are wearing. With red vs. blue everyone pretty much looks the same anyway.

While sure it does not have any actual uses, but the armor in halo 5 is just like its been in almost all halos, a way of showing your uniqueness and how good you are, and most importantly it looks just sooooo awesome

Must be me then. For the first 3 weeks I didn’t even change my stock armor and no one said anything or gave a -Yoink-. Neither did I of course but I’d rather see 343 spend time addressing the problems in this game instead of designing ways for our Spartan to look prettier.
Carter’s armor is awesome.

True, but i find that having different halo armor and trying to collect them all is fun and really presents a challenge, a goal that needs to be accomplished
Currently using the Noble helmet with charred recruit armor, but my favourite is definitely Helioskrill. Don’t have MCC (and don’t want to go through the hassle of beating all those games again), so I’m hoping to eventually get it in req packs, which is allegedly possible
