I don’t get it, everyone’s saying it’s inconsistent. How? You shoot, your gun raises by the same amount every time. That’s consistencty.
I agree. Recoil makes sense and is extremely easy to work with. If someone says they’re a competitive player I would expect they would be able to work with something as simple as recoil and yet they’re the ones I see complaining the most.

Nothing’s bad about it.
I don’t mind, no.
Nothing.
I look forward to mastering recoil, seems like a predictable, fun, competitive game mechanic.

I’m just interested to see how strong the recoil is. Hopefully it won’t be too much.
Eh, it doesn’t really seem like it serves a purpose other than adding “realism,” where it doesn’t belong, not to mention it’s unrealistic anyway. But then I don’t know what damage is like yet, so if the BR is a 3 shot weapon it would make sense to have some drawback. If it’s a four-five shot weapon though then it doesn’t really seem like a sensible mechanic.

hahaha so true. People just want to crucify 343 before they even see what they can do. I bet you people who hate the game now will probably hate the game after comes out because they are so fixated on hating the game. Games need to change and develop guys, otherwise were just buying the same game twice.

I don’t think any weapon other than the sniper should be capable of cross mapping without some level of pacing/re-adjusting your aim. At least this meathod is 100% consistent, unlike spread and bloom.
Not only that, it requires a level of skill to master.
As long as it is a consistent and predictable recoil I’m ok with it.
A lot of people have the misconception that bloom is recoil, when it really isn’t at all. I think thats why people are a little worried.

The spread is %100 consistent. Bullets will always travel within the reticule in the same pattern. Unless they intentionally make it more random in Halo 4. I think spread covers that base well enough without recoil.

I don’t see how someone can understand why bloom is inconsistent yet still be unable to distinguish between bloom and recoil…
People never cease to amaze me.
Agree, and if they dont like it, they need to get some friends and play halo 3 customs.

I’m never surprised by this community any more. Hell, their are still kids who think bloom and spread are the same thing.
What’s so bad about recoil? Nothing.
It adds immersion and realism to the game, ergo adding more skill to mastering a weapon. The more realistic mechanics applied to a virtual weapon, the more skill that is required to use it to it’s full potential.

You really can’t make a realism argument in this case. 1300lb super-soldiers who can press more than a tonne and have been trained to use rifles since childhood will have no problem keeping a gun steady.

Yes, this exactly. I hate everyone who uses the “it adds realism” argument for everything. It’s a Sci-Fi Shooter, it doesn’t have to have realism. If a realistic feature is a good addition to the game, then by all means put it in, but if it’s a realistic feature that adds nothing to the game, it doesn’t belong. I’m willing to keep an open mind about recoil, as we haven’t seen it featured on precision weapons yet in Halo (other than the Halo: Reach Beta).
