Isn’t Microsoft doing their own thing and calling it something different?
Oh. Probably.
I hadn’t thought about that.
projectyle br sucks. I dont know how it would feel in infinite but i dont wanna know. It feels really bad to face controller users on mcc h3 which has projectyle br.
For me, the #1 issue is Server Selection.
80% of my matches are at 250+ ms ping time, which looks to be in connecting to a Server Europe. 20% of my matches are 25 ms ping times, which from looking at Halo 5 and MCC Server Selector, are in Seattle.
Trying to play a FPS at 4 fps is pointless, so I uninstalled HI on my Xbox until 343 gets it’s act together.
My biggest issue is the challenges. I don’t understand why I should have to play the game in ways I don’t want to in order to make meaningful progress towards the season pass. Not to mention the vast majority seem to be for my absolute least favorite way to play: fiesta (and not just when the tenrai event is happening).
Why does my contribution to the team in game receive no experience benefit? Why do medals not have some experience bonus attached to them? Why is it that when I have a challenge that says, “earn cumulative score in Team Slayer” I can’t play whatever playlist I want that contains that game type, but instead MUST play the Team Slayer playlist? What if I wanted to play ranked? I never get anything for that.
I guess I also care that I can’t customize my character the way I want because of the separate suits, but I’ll take being able to play how I want over looking how I want.
pve dude seriously PVE is lacking in this game
Personal opinion, the server inconsistency is the most pressing issue. The contrast between very good and sub-par server connection quality is ridiculous. The game could definitely use an optional server preference/priority selection.
The K+M vs Controller criticism feels equally valid. Frankly, I do not think it is possible to place both of these inputs into the same murder box and achieve a prefectly level playing field. Isolating them seems like the ideal solution. Although, there may be player count and queue time considerations creating apprehension here (only reason I can think to put them together…).
I’d note, there is a lot of inconsistency on this front for Controller. Some weapons have excessive AA/bullet mag. Others, not so much. I’d agree it’s too strong on the BR in particular (it’s the easiest weapon to use within it’s ideal range IMO…). I think the same could be said for the AR and perhaps a couple other weapons. Both the crosshair deceleration/pull and bullet mag are far too forgiving in some cases.
I do not think any of this “ruins” the game. It definitely isn’t doing it any favors though.
Completely and 100% agree with every point you’ve made.
There’s no justification for the game still having so many fundamental issues.
I’ve effectively stopped playing anything other than a casual game of BTB here and there.
When it’s a fair experience for mnk, theres more content and when 343 stop trying manipulating and controlling every aspect of fun (bloomin socialists :p)…I will return properly.
Sounds like a skill issue, projectile based weapons have always been the best in Halo. Get good on PC and take advantage of pin point mouse accuracy.
Agree with all of the OPs points, although cant comment on pc issues as I play console.
SBMM for me is a key one. I don’t play 1500 games and grind to onyx just to jump to social where everybody else I’m matched with has very similar skill levels. That is just ranked 2.0.
I don’t understand the logic that 50% games all the time creates the best experience. The reality is there should be a learning curve to picking up a new game. It SHOULD take time to get good at the game and most importantly it should feel rewarding to finally get to a point where you are above average. Problem is that infinite doesn’t really allow for that rewarding experience, it just creeps your MMR up constantly. I understand the point around wanting fair games, but good players should stand out. That’s the way online gaming has always worked, and the way it should work. Fiesta right now is absolutely horrendous the SBMM is so strict. Watching pro players go barely positive in a social playlist is kinda funny tho ngl.
thing is its not a skill issue. I like projectile h3 on controller and i do better with it than with mnk and i ve been using mnk only for the past 6 years! I dont know but h3 feels terrible to play on mnk when facing controller users in br duels. Its so much easier to get 4shot kills with a controller while on mnk it feels so so hard to not miss a single bullet of the 3 round burst. Maybe in infinite it wouldnt be as bad but i have no idea man. All i know is h3 feels terrible on mnk when in br duels against a controller.
if you play the game for years and get good at it whats the point of being good at it if you ll face yourself every game? Shouldnt i feel rewarded and elevated above the general playerbase if i am in the top 2% of the game? Why should i always sweat? Sometimes i just want to pick on casuals and chill not tryhard and just have some -Yoink!- fun when not in ranked. Game only feels casual in BTB.
Forge is the biggest aspect that needs to be added into the game. Hopefully once it’s added in and available that the customization is smooth and readily ready to go and be created.
It does ruin the game for mnk players who try to be competitive and get stomped in br duels against controller. Also wouldnt it be nice if mnk was competitive and maybe have an mnk pro for once in halo? I have no issue with any other gun on controller. Just the br and maybe the ar a little but its def not fair and mnk players noticed that. Thats why so many competitive mnk players left the game. I hope they can look at the controller br and balance it a little.
Bro fiesta was always -Yoink!-. I dont understand how can anyone like it. 3games str8 i get spawned with plasma pistol and pulse carbine while the enemy has rockets and snipers lmao…
This is one of the main reasons why I haven’t played Halo in a month.
This is another reason for me. No way this game should run as bad as it does. Have you seen the UE5 of Matrix that found it’s way to PC?

Halo Infinite, a cartoonish looking Si-Fi shooter can’t even hold 60fps at 4k ultra with a 3080.
Skill issue, plus the natural fact of controller being better at tracking which means better with a burst weapon.
Shroud is doing an AT&T Annihilator Cup tournament and they’re starting with Halo. They are getting owned by controller.
All the issues they’re having with the lobbies are ridiculous. I hope 343i is watching this train wreck.
Also, Shroud alone had over 700k views during that Halo stream. I think that’s the most views Halo Infinite has ever seen, and that’s just from one guy.
