What's really annoying?

I see all these posts from proe who seem to be strongly pro/anti against certain changes that 343 is putting in H5. And the super annoying part? They hardly play! I see their service records and they’ve got a total of maybe 400 online games played on H4…a 2 1/2 year old game. I’m just sitting here, wondering, why do they even care? They’ll throw it away in a matter of months. This is why seniority opinions should come first. They’ll obviously be the ones playing, after everyone else has kicked rocks.

I never noticed, but you have a good point op.

I guess you make a point.

At the same time, would you keep playing something you didn’t enjoy?

I am not one of them, but I will speak for them. They don’t play H4 because they don’t like it. They hate sprint, personal ordnance, and armor abilities. Not necessarily in that order. And I’m not judging. They’re not wrong to hate these things, even if I personally don’t. But they prefer a version of Halo (H2 or H3) which has fewer variables and a more stylized form of game play. Game play which they feel is more competitive.

You get it, good sir.

You know whats worse? People who defend h4 like its thier first born child who played a couple hundred games.

I have played 868 games of Halo 4 and I still think it is complete and utter trash.
Why did I play so many games? Because I am a masochist. Why else?

I have played this amount, if not more. Which my point. Players who truly love halo the most, are gonna play it the most, even if it’s not what they wanted. I Don’t care for H4, still played the hell out of it.

Perhaps some of the people like that played Halo 4 for prolonged periods of time in the hopes that it would grow on them, I know I’ve done that with other franchises that I love.

In my opinion, Halo 4 didn’t fail in the multiplayer department solely because of sprint, I truly believe that it was a lot of forced mechanics that just didn’t work that well together. I do think sprint was implemented incorrectly though, among other things.

I also just have to chime in on the idea of opinions carrying more weight when coming from a more seasoned player.

Firstly, nobody’s time or lack of time in any single Halo game means much. There are five games in the series and I think longevity counts for something, but a lot of these guys put in the time on 2 and 3 and their opinions matter. Conversely, just because a guy had a 50 in H3 team slayer does not make his opinion the living end.

Secondly, there are plenty of players who play a lot, and love the game, but don’t necessarily have a very nuanced understanding of how the game works, or more importantly, what it is that makes the game attractive to other players. In this case, to competitive players. Personally it has taken me a really long time to get a grip on where the competitive players are coming from. Partly because I’m not good enough at Halo to play at these levels, and partly because I’m the least competitive person you will ever meet. I guess the one is probably the reason for the other. At any rate, I play the game for completely different reasons than most other players, and I want different things from the game than most other players want. But when it comes to having an opinion, we all get the same amount of air time. What makes a real difference is not how long you’ve spent in the game, but how well-thought out your opinion is, how well you express it, and how much respect you can muster for people who disagree with you.

I got my plate full with other games I’m focused on at the moment and its a little hard to juggle several games when you have a job and a family. Doesn’t mean I can’t have a opinion on the next installment. I used to play alot back in the day when I was in high school, and while I was a single bachelor living at home.

Even abit more upsetting when 4 is their first Halo game.

Im the kinda person who plays a halo game till its dead. except halo 4. Mostly because I sold my 360 to get and xbox one. (awful decision btw)

I haven’t played Halo 4 Xbox 360 version for over a year and I left it behind as I was just getting sick of poor team matching, but what they did within the MCC improved it alot.

This account has zero games. So what?
My other account has literally 8,000 games including Halo 2, Halo 3 , Reach, Halo 4, and MCC.
Get over the use of an account and take their viewpoint into account, not their gaming.

Their viewpoint is less valid if they’re only gonna play for a month…I didn’t mention their gaming skills at all. It’s about how much they’re getting what they want just for a few games. You wouldn’t build a house and take someone’s opinion on how it should look, if they’re not going to live there, would you?

I see your point, but I’m trying to point out that just because they are posting with an account that has a small amount of games, doesn’t mean that they haven’t played on other accounts. You’re making assumptions, off being able to see one account.

Yep

And they have 10x more games played of Black ops 2.

Gotcha. I never got why people have separate accounts for these things. But it’s neither here nor there I suppose.

Because halo 4 sucks imo. Why would I play something I don’t like?
