We still be fighting the Elites, just not the ones we are familiar with in Halo 2 and 3.
They will (most likely) be three ones from Halo 4.
Brutes have been nearly extinct, and have been withdrawn back to their home planet.

A lot of that talked about how there are still Brutes around almost everywhere. There are some that joined with the Remnants and others are allying with the Arbiter and in turn the humans.
