What's more important to you: Story or Multiplayer?

Well, what’s more important for you in Halo 4? Campaign or Multiplaer?

For me, even though multiplayer will keep me playing for years, the story matters just a teensy bit more for me. Just because it’s the new trilogy, new enemy, beginnings, etc. And character development is key, too, so, for me, the story matters just slightly more.

How about you?

EDIT: Here’s a thread I made yesterday about a key component for Halo 4’s story.

I’m torn between the two, to be honest. It’s all part of the Halo Experience in my opinion.

I’m a multiplayer kind of guy, but I also like to see replay and co-op value in the campaign.

campaign for sure i love the halo universe i read the books story is very important to me

Story, by about a bazillion percent.

campaing totaly, considering i play multiplayer all day, i know the campaing for me its the biggest reason why i bought the game.

Campaign.

I hate to put it so bluntly, because the thought of failure scares me. But if Halo is going to have a prosperous future, with this game, 343 Industries must nail both!

Story, i have plenty of other games if Halo 4s multiplayer sucks.

The campaign is the game maker for me.

Story, its what got me hooked and will keep me going on the halo franchise. which is why I see as better than most modern shooters because the story is always a after thought. muliplayer is good but like i said story for sure.

Story, because we have not explored the characters themselves very much.

I need them both. I am competitive and a Story addict to keep me compelled to why the game attracted me to play it in the first place. For the story.

For ME? Story. While when I try my hardest (which is rare nowadays) I can serve up a fresh steamy meal of ownage in matchmaking, as of late I’ve found myself getting more and more entwined into the fiction. Reading novels, brushing up on facts from Halopedian, reading the graphic novels, what have you…

After re-reading a few novels, I’ve found myself with a new fondness and likeability for John’s character. When I play the trilogy now I can feel as if I can think what John actually would think in the situation I’d find myself in (which isn’t that fair of statement because in the games during gameplay your supposed to feel like him. :stuck_out_tongue: ).

So I can’t wait for a continuation of his story and for him to return.

Campaign definitely after Reach,ODST and 3 having boring campaigns with very little replayability i think it’s about time the makers give us a great story with fun levels.

Easily Campaign. Yes Halo has a great multiplayer but that’s not what the series was founded on. The multiplayer was originally just a last minute add on which turned out to be great.

> I hate to put it so bluntly, because the thought of failure scares me. But if Halo is going to have a prosperous future, with this game, 343 Industries must nail both!

I definitely think they’ll nail both perfectly, but the story will still matter more to me.

Halo’s story has been slaughtered so much lately that I really don’t care anymore. Unless 343i rejuvenates it with Halo 4, I’ll just start playing for gameplay alone. :frowning:

I’m surprised so many people are so heavily swayed towards the campaign! I personally love playing through the campaigns but I spend 95% of my time playing multiplayer… So for me the competitive side of multiplayer needs to be something I want to play over and over! MLG FTW

Backstory is very VERY important to me.

So is multiplayer.

But if the Campaign sucks I will still buy it but be in rage mode and I probably wont buy DLC in protest.
