Halo Infinite’s story is still very much a Halo story.
We have the Master Chief being one of the last Spartans again and what remains Humanity is hoping for him to save them.
We have an alien force that greatly outnumbers us and seeks to destroy us.
The Banished likely want something out of this ring. At first we are led to believe that they wish to start the Halo ring and use it against everyone else, but they are after something else; something hidden away deep within the ring.
Since Halo 4 wanted to open the can-o-worms that is Master Chief being more Human and less of a one-dimensional character and Halo 5 followed that up with Master Chief becoming a naive child because Brian Reed doesn’t understand the human psyche. With how Halo Infinite portrayed the Human side of the Master Chief… it feels fitting of Halo 2 and Halo 3.
So far, we have only seen Part One of Halo Infinite’s Campaign. Part Two - The Endless is expected to release within the next two-to-three years.
Looking at how this beta was released vs their previous titles, it’s almost like some other company created the other titles and this is 343’s actual first Halo. That is how it feels to me at least.
If I thought it would matter I would sit down and write out everything like you just did but I’m so tired. But you nailed quite a few of them . So kudos🥂
I think its more a case of it isn’t exactly easy to distinguish between male/female spartans based on figure alone. I agree that spartans can have whatever general figure, regardless of gender, but some people prefer feminine figures and some don’t when it comes to female spartans. Same goes for male spartans. There is no clear distinction between the two in this game, and it alienates certain people from, being able to customise their spartan the way they want to, which goes against the supposed point of making the models as androgenous as they are. This coupled with the god-awful armour cores and coatings makes customisation near-impossible in this game.
I will highlight and address the points I feel are worth discussing.
Classic Magnum: We have the Mangler already. Sidekick is already good. Bringing back classic magnum would be more of a flavor change than a functional one.
Pump shotgun: Yes. bring back classic shotgun concept as a heavy weapon.
DMR: We have the Commando and BR. DMR would only be a sidegrade to the BR.
SMG: Nah. SMG only works with dual wielding which might not be a great idea.
Spartan Laser: I do prefer it over the Skewer but the Skewer currently fills the SL’s role without being too OP.
Yes. The Ghost, the Banshee, and the Wraith are noticeably wimpy, to the point that they often don’t get a chance to perform at all when they spawn. This is partly due to shock weaponry being far too common, but mostly because of their lack of health or small-arms damage resistance.
Scorpion tank has issues, mostly in how it controls. Decently powerful due to direct-fire cannon. Doesn’t spawn enough to make a difference in any match. Shock weapons make it unusable, to the point many people don’t bother getting in.
Warthog and Razorback are actually decent right now but may need more small-arms resistance if other vehicles get a health buff.
Imagine map-specific vehicles in multiplayer… That would be awesome. Like a map with two scarabs that can be destroyed and remain as permanent terrain geometry for the rest of the match.
Falcon should have already been in the game, particularly the campaign, since it has such a heavy focus on troop transportation.
The Mantis was cool but ultimately not very Halo looking, in its previous versions. It would need to be shorter and stockier, as well as more focused on firing explosive ordinance like grenades, with a single HMG for direct-fire. In H5 it was basically a tall Warthog for 1 occupant, and in H4 it was too effective against all targets.
It also does not offer as much as the Scorpion and ultimately falls into the same tier as the standard Warthog.
-Dual weilding like in Halo 3
-Scarab fights, and newer similar machine/vehicular boss fights but maybe bigger in scope.
-Proper Jetpack (remember the Halo 2 dual Weilding space Elite Jetpacks? We players should be able to do that by now in 2022) we need to stop with this Thruster mini quick movement gimmicky mechanics. The Jetpack needs the same level of attention as Grappleshot. 343 nailed the Grappleshot and I believe they can nail down Jetpack and Grappleshot combo.
-A third person toggle skull so we can look at our Masterchief with the option of using our customizable armor in new game plus (similar to Spider-Man suits in the PS4 game)
-A proper story with a satisfying conclusion with much less annoying characters instead of the the never ending questions surrounded with mystery that don’t get answered and left with cliffhangers. Please no more in media res stories with cliffhangers and never ending questions.
Changes that need to be made in my opinion. 1. Make a button to turn off the crossplay of PC and consoles. If the developers do not do this, then the game will die like Pubg and Warzone. Because there are a lot of PC cheaters. 2. Fix the servers. I play on XSX sometimes in the middle of a match it throws me into the main menu and writes that the connection to the servers has been lost. 3. Fix big team matches. They do not work. 4. Fix matchmaking. Now in my team, then in the enemy team comes across a player with a large cooldown. 27 or 30 kills and 2 deaths. I’m an average player and I don’t want to play without a chance to win. Let a player with such a cooldown go into matches with the same as him. Sometimes I am such a player and it is also bad. This is a beating. It should not be. Make a calibration not only in the rating and make a selection based on it. Otherwise, a new player will enter, receive +100500 damage without a chance and leave the game forever. Under the condition of not quite standard mechanics with shields, new players will leave. high TTK repels.
Their is a lot missing from the game after all this is years after each halo honestly I dont know why the old weapons aren’t kept adding maybe 1 or 2 per game instead of entire new arsenals. Weve got our constants like the ar the pistol and the plasma pistol. Theres also the sniper and rockets plus warthog. But in all honesty they’ve added way to much. It’s funny thinking about how pretty much all the covenant and brute weapons have changed and then an entire lack of promethian weapons like what in the world is going on
I’d say, to ME, the most important one is the in game report system. As of right now, I have clips of 4 people clearly using wall hacks and aim bots. I tried submitting, but unless it’s formatted a certain way, I can only upload about 3-6 seconds. And that’s on top of navigating to the reporting web page and trying to find exactly what I’m looking for.
It’s inconvenient and messy. A streamlined option, maybe in theater, so you can just upload your clip right then.
There is. Google it because I’m at work and can’t seem to find the link. Point in case. It’s annoying.
But yea, through halowaypoint, there is q report function that allows for video upload so they can confirm the person is cheating. I just end up sending the names because none of my videos ever upload because they’re too big.
After finishing my last match in Halo 3 I was reminded of one of the biggest things Infinite is missing in my opinion. That is, a lack of social features. There’s no pre and post game lobbies. No option to party up. To see your previous teammates you have to go through a bunch of menus. There’s no service records or file share (even without forge fileshare could be nice). The game doesn’t feel as interactive as the older games. I think adding this in could help with the sense of community.
Lol thanks for the info no need to google it as your explanation is pretty spot on telling me all I need to know about it. After all you gave me a personal experience of using it and how it works and the knowledge that it even existed
And since its through waypoint I know it’s broken as they’re too busy fixing their games and creating content to worry about their apps or websites. Kinda funny too considering Microsoft is a software company that specializes in coding
