whats Mark V(B) doing in Thursay war?

isnt Mark V out dated by 2553, infact isnt Mark VII the new armor the spartans wear?
so why is this spartan wearing the Mark V(B) in the thursday war?

another question, who is this spartan? (it is not noble 6 because she/he is dead)

I bet it will tell us in the book.

I’m a bit radical in my thoughts, though.

Hmm… from the coloration, this could be a member of Team: Black, who were on “fields of battle too distant to be recalled” at the time of the fall of Reach.
Also, even during the Fall of Reach, Jorge was still rocking a Mk IV (Albeit a heavily personalized one). Mk V had only JUST been deployed at that point, with Mk VI in it’s prototyping stage, which chief gets at the beginning of H2. During many of the novels, various armor pieces are swapped in and out as they become available. It would seem to me, similar to the way we were able to customize our Armor in Halo:Reach, Each Spartan probably has customized their own needs. It’s very rare to get them all in the same place at once, so I’d imagine individual Spartans get upgrades at vastly different times. It would seem pretty clear there’s not really a standard operating procedure for MJOLNR rollouts.

You dont know that! Noble Six might still be alive.

Just because it looks like Mark V**, doesn’t mean it is.**

I’m thinking it’s a Spartan IV, considering the Infinity is in the background.

Wasn’t that gray team?

It’s just the chest piece Jorge was using a mark IV piece in Reach if i remember right.

I think this is it.

One other thing is that Thursday War takes place only a couple months after Mk. VI is introduced. The UNSC is rebuilding, it can’t afford manufacturing suits that cost as much as starships for all the SPARTAN IVs. So they let private companies manufacture the second best armor suits available to SPARTANS, the MK. V . They don’t give them what they need for Mk. VI because they could be paranoid about Innies obtaining the data. Now Innies can’t wear MJOLNIR…them not being Spartans, but who knows what could happen?

It didn’t pop out to anyone else that it is a S111 from the shield world, I mean come on

They all had SPI armor.
