Great we got some Halo 5 news that we have all been waiting for, and the news is, you have to wait another 15-16 months for Halo 5. But wait it’s not just Halo 5 it’s Halo 5 Guardians.
I’ve read lots a speculation about “That Image” any of which could turn out to be true. That’s one thing about making stuff up as you go along it’s very hard to predict what will happen next.
So the title Halo 5 Guardians.
I wondered what people thought they meant by Guardians?
My guess is the Guardians are Halsey and Cortana both consider themselves to be Guardians of Master Chief (Cortana) aka John 117 (Halsey) and if this is correct we will see Chief tormented as he tries to save Cortana. Halsey will get wind of this and realise that if John saves Cortana doing whatever he has to do then everyone else will perish so she runs off to save him promising Jul M’dama everything and more to help her.
Guardians likely means a number of things. Both Forerunner and Precursors have been the Guardians of Life at one point, and Humanity is set to claim that title themselves at some point. In the case of Halo 5, it probably refers to Spartans, the guardians of Humanity (hence two Spartans on the cover).
The Guardins title makes me think this is a prequel (think Halo 3: ODST as Halo 5: Guardians, only this time the prequel releasing before the main title).
As for what the name means for the story, I really don’t know right now.
I am hoping the new naming structure means a new threat like the Precursors, Forerunners, or something else since Halo has done the Covenant and Flood to the point of banality.
