First i would like to say, i have played halo since i was 6 years old. I like spartans more but it seems like there just trying to get rid of elites. They have been there from the begining of halo from its release trailer. They are an iconic enemy for the francise and there are many people who like to play as elite. its like taking the locust out of gears of war or no souledge to contrast soulcalibur. To be honest i used to like elites alot, and my best friend, who plays halo with me for that same time, loves the arbiter. im not saying that the new enemy will suck, its just that it seems that they just used them for three really great games and now its like they tossed them in the recycle bin. I know thay say there different in shield and stuff, but i tested it in a gametype where i had my friends be a team of spartans and elites and the mulitplayer didnt change at all. I know that the halo 4 storyline isnt based around the covenent and thats ok, but i wanna go back to those days where i could change to an elite without playing a specific gametype.
I was thinking the same thing. There are plenty of clans out there who use only Elites, or the best they can. Halo 4 taking out all choice of race discourages these clans to continue on to Halo 4. Or Halo 5 if it’s the same way. (I personally believe Halo 3 was the end, and that’s the way it should have stayed. I was satisfied that Chief was stranded in space, and just like the end of Mass Effect 3, This seems like a way to sate the thirst of all the unsatisfied players with Halo 3’s ending, just on a bigger scale)

Recycling is to reuse something.
i should have elaborated on that part. They put them in the recycle bin so they can use them for little to just mention them. sorry for the confusion
I agree, it really is disappointing to see the elites gone from multiplayer, that is one of the reasons why I regret to announce that I will not be purchasing Halo 4.
I’m not sure about the future of halo, on the one hand this might be just a temporary thing, in halo 5, presumably, you won’t be on the Infinity and that would allow players to be elites, or on the other hand, this is just to “wane” the community away from elites so they can make more halo games faster (Cut out the unneeded fun stuff just to crank out more games faster… kinda like cod…).
But I’m sure they are just being taken out temporarily. Anyways everyone I’ve spoken to about elites being removed has replied with “Wtf man” and it makes me wonder why there are so few people talking about this on the forums, I can count on my hand how many threads have been made concerning elites in halo 4.

You’re not buying it because of no Elites in multiplayer?
That’s IMHO weak
I’ll miss them, but 343 said they’ll be a new enemy class.

Leaving because of measures to improve balance in MP? It is odd
