What's happening to Halo Multiplayer

I’ve been playing Reach since Dec 2010, OK so I’m not very good but I’m working on it. A bigger issue is that over the last 2 days I have been abused online by 3 people.

Already admitted my average kills per game at the minute is around 8-10 so I’m not ready for the Pro league but surely I am as entitled to play Reach as anybody??

I regulalrly play after a hard day at the office with some of my online friends and colleagues, we “ENJOY” playing and also like to have a laugh while we play too, surely the “Social” aspect of gaming does not have to be eradicated so the Die Hard’s can compete in complete isolation from the recreational players.

Anyone else have an opinion? I know it can be annoying when you lose because some of the team aren’t great although surely if you can’t handle this then go onto the Arena or MLG options and play people up to your standard. In my case I can’t moan about anyone however I don’t feel I shoudl be verbally or texted abuse just because I cant tally up 25 kills every game…

Views!!!

Yeah man, sometimes people get out of hand. I mean tea bagging and smack talking in game is one thing but sending messages just to be an a$% is different. Best thing you can do is just avoid the player through the xbox menus.

Dude, don’t get the whole tea bagging thing either…

Of course you should be able to play the game you paid money for without being abused!

Unfortunately you get some these people from time to time!!! Best thing to do it mute them or select party online for voice chat and if they are that bad give them a negative player review and set them to avoid.

This is the internet, it is just the way things work. People act like -Yoink- simply because they can get away with it. I have been threaten several times, everyone get’s bullied over the internet, especially when it comes to games where the main audience is young males. Just try to not take it seriously, bark back if you want to, that can be fun but really just ignoring them is the best way to go about.

I’m not saying “this is the internet, get used to it or leave” just trying to give a glimpse of reality. This should come as no shock really.

Just ignore scrubs and focus on the fun side of gaming and the communities (:

It’s like freedom of speech as to why -Yoink!-, -Yoink!- and Hate Groups are ALLOWED to walk the streets and protest/voice their opinions, etc etc.

On the internet/online gaming, everyone apparently has a high chance of being a nuisance and deterrent to your playing until someone hits them with an unlikely ban.

Only thing you can do is mute, avoid them with player review, block communications, and file a complaint if they are actually sending you harassing messages

> Only thing you can do is mute, avoid them with player review, block communications, and file a complaint if they are actually sending you harassing messages

Avoiding player should suffice. I do it all the time and there’s a few matches that go by peacefully but there’s no stopping the chock full of dooshes.

Dashboard blade, family settings, voice comm, ‘friends only’, solved.

I am competitive, I take winning seriously and I put a lot of time into good team play with my friends. However we play together socially and have fun, don’t make out some kind of difference between player attitude based on skill, because that isn’t realistic.

There is also the fact that me and my friends NEVER trash talk people, we just win and move onto the next game, the idiots that harass you in matchmaking are children, not hardcore or casual, just stupid spoilt children.

I reckon the answer to this is to add ranked and social playlists like in halo 3, all games will be in both but in ranked there is no guests and it should be played competitively and in social it should be played as a laugh and not competitive.

If you and your buddies run into a team that’s more skilled and making it not fun for you, then after the game just leave, mark one of them as an avoided player with a bad player review so you don’t run into them again and move on. Try another playlist.

Hey Folks, I don’t mind losing in fact but being called a person by someone on your own team and then having them kill you until you boot them…hmmmmmm…

This PM I was told by someone to “log out -Yoink-” before we had even spawned on the map… when I didn’t the next message was not quite so polite…

To address the “Casual” gamer tag I seem to have picked up I have played Halo since CE was launched but was never lucky enough to have Broadband… living somewhere that resembles a remote big team battle map will do that to you :)) Know I have it and I am practicing as much as a business professional, married man with 3 kids can… even if it’s only to beat the son once every so often…

Great to hear though that I am not the only one who has respect for my fellow gamers… Surely a better matching of skill level would be a good Idea I could then improve without annoying the purist’s… Any ideas 343i

I don’t understand trash talking OR teabagging.
I also don’t understand why mommy buys precious billy a mature rated game, maybe its because billy wanted to spend his 3 years allowance on it.

Raptor!! Agree mate it’s not all of the good players, I have befriended one guy who is actually helping me improve my game…

I have a good game, when im not getting killed by armor ability abuse. Why is it that one game I go 20 and 3, but the next i go 7 and 12? then I go 20 and 3 again. Its beacuse reach doesnt have a skill gap.

> I don’t understand trash talking OR teabagging.

Neither do I. The purpose of tea-bagging and trash talking simply escapes me.

Same thing here, totally agree… Not sure I understand what you mean by armour abuse?? Can you explain…

I only get ticked off when I empty a full clip into someones head and then I die… Do you find on some games recently the outcome of 1V1’s just doesn’t make sense???

When people sprint away when you only need one more shot, when people jetpack accross the entire map, when people Armor luck right before they die, its all armor ability abuse.

> When people sprint away when you only need one more shot, when people jetpack accross the entire map, when people Armor luck right before they die, its all armor ability abuse.

It’s not called abuse, it’s called knowing how to use the armor ability at the right time. Stop crying about it and adapt.
