Why are things going on badly? Why won’t they explain the truth? There’s nothing wrong with telling us what’s wrong. We can help.
Well, if you follow certain YouTubers like MintBlitz you can kind of get an idea of what is happened. He has some videos talking about what’s happening. There is a video where he talks about some site where employees can give anonymous reviews of their workplace. A while back ex and current employees talk about how there was a lot of contract workers at the company and management wouldn’t hire/offer them full time. So, if they left during development they’d have to bring in new contractors and retrain them every time.
There was also talks on how management wasn’t approachable anymore. And crunch times were terrible. Like how if there was something that needed to be fixed but would take a couple months they would expect it to be fixed within a month or within a shorter amount of time.
If all of that is true, then management needs to hire fulltime people who will stay and also treat them well. Having to constantly train new people to understand a system only for them to leave months later hurts each team working on the game. If they had a full team, pretty sure everyone could agree that Infinite would either be fixed or be in a better state than it is right now.
I often wonder do they have team meetings and discuss the state of the game
For instance players on Steam, people who watch on twitch and players who play on console ?
Or do they talk about how much the store made last month and how much it is forecast to make next month.
Privately do they acknowledge the game is probably beyond saving for a lot of people, how they ignore the community and regard it as toxic….I call it over passionate maybe but still passionate.
Then they roll Sketch out to try and tell us everything is ok and 343 are so passionate about Halo just like the fans……honestly it makes me feel sick.
Because they would have to admit how much they have lied, and taking responsibility for their very poor actions is not something they are willing to do. It’s sad, but it’s 100% fact. This is what happens when a business runs a game vs a company. You know, the company that actually created Halo?
Actually there is knowing they have to put on a show for the new players, and this is not me being sarcastic either. Fake it until they make it, but I don’t think they will make it until 2025 and that is even if we are lucky.
No we can’t and they don’t want our help.
That has been more than obvious since the day infinite released by just looking at how the game launched with how they presented themselves in a vary poor matter. Then there is the reality of looking at the very poor state the game is in almost a year later.
The good employees they did have left, either by terminated contracts or by their own choice because they could see just how poorly 343 has been handling Halo Infinite.
They don’t want to hire full-time because they have to pay them benefits. It’s just treated like any other business. They aren’t concerned as much with the quality of the product so long as it produces revenue. And they want to keep cost down.
Management usually becomes un approachable because they want to ignore the problems and just tell their Dev teams to just fix it.
And trust me Contractors Aka Temp workers are treated like crap at these dev companies. They see them as dispensable and replaceable.
This is the first year. The vibe is very much like Halo 5 year one i.e. being disappointing in quite a few ways and missing product that we traditionally expect at launch. It was not until year 1.5 in H5 that we had a weapon sandbox rebuild, “heavy aim” and server improvements, Year 2 roadmap fully under way, Forge, and improvements to lobby sandbox setups such as spartan charge removal and radar changes for HCS / ranked lobby".
This is definitely their worst first year. Squandered opportunity following the consumer and community blessings during the first month of release when all other AAA shooters landed flat on their face.
I’m really hoping that by Christmas Break 2022 all of 343i has established a healthy work routine, reduced employment turnover, and a sustainable operation model to deliver good product in timely fashion. The only other outcome is MS closes down 343i. MS have and will shut down studios when necessary.
They we’re all watching paint dry and one of the kids launched infinite too early while they weren’t looking.
This is a very popular opinion. People want CA to take over and have people like Joe head the direction.
I’m not sure why they don’t outsource more advertising to their content creator community. There are a lot of good machinima makers out there that could do commercials and stuff for them. They got railed for the simplicity of the Lone Wolves ads/trailers, which I don’t think was a fair criticism tbh. But someone with more experience could have done something bigger, and might have even done it for free for them.
It’s a shame. The product, the legacy that Bungie built with Halo deserves the passion and care.
- I’m glad Halo fans maintain that passion and care. -
I believe Nickmercs said it bluntly. And with his presence and exposure on the gaming scene I’m sure he’s heard a few things too, wouldn’t doubt it anyways. I know I find certain things disturbing about 343. And I mean at the VP and executive levels.
If 343 has done one significant thing of any value, it’s unite the Halo community further. It’s unfortunate that it had to based in such a negative circumstance.
I’ll continue to support and play Halo. I won’t let a hand full of people at 343 that do not share in the passion of Halo deter me.
Despite the overwhelming hits 343 has taken and would appear to be of their own doing. There has been some very positive news on the employee front, bringing in legacy talent! I hope that is a good first step to a better future for Halo.
It’s called Glassdoor. 343 Industries currently has a 2.6 out of 5 star rating based on 73 employee reviews. According to the site, only 36% of employees would recommend working there. Sounds pretty grim.
Wow kid, that was incendiary and creative as hell. Way to plasma stick
The game and community really deserves a lot more info on what they are working on and ideally a road map. At least a monthly update via video, live chat or hell even a blog post. Something to let us know they are hearing what the major complaints and gripes are, and that they are going to take some action.
This is something I don’t just throw out there lightly and type this because I care, but it’s time for change at the Head management position @343 and their loyalist underlings. They clearly have the talent and resources, but cannot have these kind of mismanagement issues continue especially into what ever the next iteration of the next Halo game, even at the planning stage. Just making that move would do wonders for morale of the fanbase and I have a strong feeling it would @343 as well.
Why deny the truth?
They have been, since the very beginning of their studio’s creation; been doing just that.
“Ah I am a genius” they said as they worked, meanwhile pulling far lower profits and fewer player numbers than Bungie’s Halo titles.
