What is it about this game that would keep you coming back? For me, it has to be the maps. If the maps are bad, then it won’t keep me playing for as long as Halo 3 did, I loved those maps. I would also say a proper competitive ranking system, although it looks as though I’ll be disappointed on that front, so hopefully Halo 4 is fun enough to keep me playing regardless.
campaign all the way.
Its the story for me. I love multiplayer too though… so I LOVE EVRYTHING ABOUT HALO
A great story
multiplayer all the way
I often buy a game for the campaign, but stay for the multiplayer.
Halo 4 is already fun!!
A great campaign with a decent mulitplayer pvp or co op.
I’m going to change my answer because it isn’t one hundred percent true, a wonderful story would definitely be the one thing I want the most, but if the story blows but the Multiplayer and Forge are good then I will definitely keep playing
I know it’s a whole new game, but I would it have matchmaking like Halo 3. I dislike the COD ranking system because you WILL eventually become the max rank even if you are bad. I like the ‘Skill’ system in Halo 3 and made multiplier a challenge.
such a tough thing to articulate as I love so many different aspects of the game.
Obviously a great campaign and story, a fun filled matchmaking experience with great maps and interesting gametypes.
I think to be honest the thing I love most about Halo and what makes it fun for me is the feeling of being a spartan, a superhero, a tank, whatever you want to call it. Which is something they have captured PERFECTLY in Halo 4.
Campaign: difficult to beat but fun enemies (like the Elites in Halo CE)
Spartan Ops: the variety of tactical situations to be faced in different missions
Multiplayer: skill-based matchmaking (absolutely essential)
Normally I’d say a decent story with compelling characters. But since the next three games are about a green plank of wood and his sidekick Fran Drescher, I’ve given up hope for that.
So I have different criteria for success: In pretty much every game of Halo, I am forced onto the same team as racists, quitters, griefers and seven-year olds who have never played a video game before.
All Halo 4 needs to work is to STOP DOING THAT.

Second this.
What an ideal matchmaking experience is for me: for every game, I have a near 50-50 chance to win, for every encounter, I have a near 50-50 to come out alive.
That would be the most fun for me in terms of MP experience.
Non campaign recycled multiplayer maps. I hated going into Reach’s matchamking and playing a map I had already seen in the campaign. It slices replay value in half for me.
Installed on my Box and at least at the staring at the main menu with a controller in my hand.
As long as the campaign and Spartan Ops are good then I’ll be happy. As for MP, I’ll have fun if I can sneak around in camo and annoy people.
It’s gotta be a good multiplayer, one that matches me against players of similar skill (like Halo 2) is the best for everyone.
Early this week i read somewhere that K/D is only supposed to apply to Slayer matches. That right there is the best thing i’ve heard so far. Farming kills in objective was and is a huge problem.
for me it is having a precision weapon that works. We haven’t gotten one since Halo 2. Halo 3’s BR was random and inconsistent. Halo Reaches DMR was very random and was garbage. It seems to me that we are finally going to get a set of precision weapons that work in Halo 4 judging by the videos that I have been seeing. The movement also looks really good which is vital for gun battles in Halo. So far the only thing that I don’t like is that we have 5 shot starting weapons. To me this is ridiculous. The BR and DMR should be 4 shots. Halo needs to speed up its kill times for once in the history of Halo. Every Halo game we have only increased kill times. Its getting kinda ridiculous.
Honestly for me it is the formula similar to Halo 3. Gameplay that isn’t too face paced but fast enough to keep you from getting bored.
I’ll use CoD for an example. I have to stay so alert and ready to shoot at the slightest signs of an enemy I’m not able joke around and talk with friends, it’s just constant callouts and irritation over random stuff.
In Halo 3 I was able to mess around AND play competitively while still winning. Less now in Reach because you can’t really ninja people anymore without a jetpack and now that it is way harder to stick people play the sticking game where I’d just stick everyone and not shoot.
I’m also sad I cant old school double magnum anymore
I loved going up against BR/AR with double magnum and win on Guardian.
It being released.
