I’m not trolling, I promise.
People have said that in the newly released video it is clearly shown that “bleed-through is now present”. Seriously: I saw no difference in gameplay and it looked like nothing had been done.
Can someone explain?

bleed through is when you dont have to get there shields all the way down to kill a person. the whole, 4 hits with that plasma rifle and the beat down proved it was back.
before you had to get the shield down to kill a person with a beatdown.
Bleed though is when you melee someone, the damage continues through the shield (for example, now in reach, if you hit someone with barely any shields, it will just take down their shields, leaving their health untouched. But with bleed through, it would also hurt their health).
Remember the shield system from halo 3? It affected your health if your shields were low enough.
In halo Reach, your shields have to be down to get your health damaged. An example was in halo 3 where if you shot someone about 16 times with the assault rifle and then meleed him, he would die. In reach, if he has a percent of shields left, his shields will only take damage.
Oh right, thanks for the information. I didn’t really notice that much from 3 to Reach, just got use to it not being there, hah
But we don’t know how much bleed through it will be. All of the Halo games have different amounts of bleed through with a melee.

it means you can kill/damage hp bar without actually knocking out shields
or damage that goes over what required to drop shields goes to hp rather than being lost
depending on the specific subject its either of those.

the former is limited(not typing limited, forum just changed it to that…meant stupid, derpy, ect) and people whine to get it because they can’t adapt from the broken halo3 melee dmr dmr punch kill thing.
the latter makes some sense.
personally unless something is actually broken which it isn’t i feel its too late for a tu to be messing with core game mechanics like bleedthrough.
especially to appease the vocal minority of whiners that also hate armor lock and bloom and who’s opinions rarely extend farther than “its newer than halo 3 so it sucks and reach should go die (but i play anyway to whine rather than just going back to h3 if it was so great)”

TBH I hate bleed through being a thing in 343’s halo reach. When you think about shields you think about absolute protection until it reaches zero of the shield gauge. legacy halo reach had extended way to evolve close quarter combat. now because of the increase in bleed through, shot gun has been more increased, and other other weapons becoming more unnecessarily powered up. bleed through does not allow one to push for crazy tactics, in fear that bleed through will minimize that success rate of a kill. halo reach’s strifeing is a huge key in victory, reach in which legacy version taught us a rhythm that 4 shots of any precision weapon (mainly DMR) can take shield out but does not ultimately guarantee victory. it comes down to (if available height advantage), perfect strifeing, better shot after bloom, still giving the person whose shield is so low or zero a chance to recover. in conclusion I believe bleed-through contradicts original shielding concept in reach by bungie. I will say i do like that bloom has been improved by the shots being less spread reticle after cooldown.
