This is just a random question, but what do you guys think about the armor sets?
Which looks cooler (in your opinion)?
Which is a better achievement to have ( by this, I mean which is harder, which is worth it from the method(s) of getting them)?
(Keep in mind I mean the Standard Helioskrill, the one you get for completing Halo CE, 2, 3, and 4)
( For Achilles, we can compare it from Helioskrill if you’re getting it solo(Achilles getting it solo, Helioskrill getting it with all skulls on). Or we can compare it if yourey getting Achilles in a 100 man Spartan Company.
I wanna know your guy’s thoughts and other options.
(I think Hellioskril set looks better, I don’t really like the Achilles helmet though)
I think helioskrill is the better armor to have IF you got it by getting the legend achievement in MCC, especially solo. Achilles may look a bit better but it is sorta tainted with the “farmed for it” stigma. It wasn’t really earned by gaming skill it was grinded out.
I actually enjoy the Achilles set a lot. It may be the most notorious armor set in Halo 5, but the satisfaction of receiving it (especially the helmet) and wearing it is something else in my opinion.
It’ hard to say because the method for obtaining them is vastly different. Plus the difficulty of each is going to he different.
Achilles, my Spartan company got the full set but we just played in general. Just about someone was on at all times, and we all enjoyed different matchmaking games. So we got to just play whatever we wanted as long as we were active. I primarily only did slayer because that’ what I enjoy so I didn’ even need to bother with anything else. So not sure what that says about my own skill.
As for helioskrill, I “happened” to have it when the beta launched because I didn’t know how it was unlocked as I didn’ care for the beta. I just had completed all 4 since to me they were easy. Heck, I think my first halo 3 and 4 run in the MCC was coop laso and solo laso respectively.
So again, would depend on the person you ask. I just usually wear Achilles armor and helio helmet because I think that combo actually looks nice, and it’ the only 2 armor sets you actually have to put any work into

Kidding. But seriously, it’s completely subjective. If I had to pick it would be Achilles. Helioskrill reminds me of Hayabusa from H3, which I despised vehemently.

He’s probably referring to this thread. Not sure what you meant by getting Achilles solo since that isn’t possible. If you meant being in a company and doing it by yourself, then good luck, lol. Even the level 3 armor would likely take you years to get by yourself.
I like the look of Helioskrill more (duh, Arbiters armor anyone?) but at this point, it lost its fame. It used to be a sign of skill and achievement from completing every campaign on Legendary, and if you did that and beat Halo 2 on Legendary, you are a legend and I will WORSHIP YOU (Keep in mind only 0.08% of the people that have the MCC have this achievement). But now its in a freakin’ REQ pack and life sucks. Now its at the point of; “Do I worship you or call you out for being a pay to play?” Achilles looks awesome, and is a meh set of gear for achievement. Sure its a sign of dedication to Halo and being a god (If you did it solo) or being carried through it (Spartan Company with good people when you sat back and relaxed taking your time in Warzone Firefight), but its also a sign of “Hey I grind!” or “Hey I don’t have a life and spend 16 hours a day on Halo!” My personal opinion is in favor of Helioskrill , but tbh it doesn’t matter anymore, its a set you can get from a gold pack.

To answer your question OP, Helioskrill. The Achilles helmet I’ve associated with tryhards, full teams, and just generally a lack of fun because that’s how it’s always unfolded when I play against those guys. Achilles is known as a sweatlord’s armor for a good reason, and the stigma that comes with that is imo well earned. I’ve even considered quitting matches when I saw one, because it’s 90% of the time a lost cause. I’m not a big fan of getting farmed.
Even aesthetically, Achilles is over the top and has a broom helmet as the main attraction. The only real thing it has going for it is its historical allusion to ancient Greek gear, but that’s it.
Helioskrill is an armor that that actually looks like it might protect a Spartan in battle and not just shine crazily because of the copious amounts of chrome. So my answer is Helioskrill.
Both armors I think look very nice but are just cool in different ways, sort of like the journey to unlock them. I am a huge fan of the older halo campaigns and having to complete all four campaign in MCC on legendary is quite on achievement. The spartan company achievement to get Achilles is just time consuming and requires teamwork. Whereas the Helioskrill armor can be done in a matter of hours or days if one is skilled enough. Both require a great deal of patience and perseverance. In my opinion the Helioskrill is harder to get, looks cooler, and overall the better helmet and armor set. Plus it has a cool background, being designed by the Sangheili and inspired by the Arbiter’s armor for use by Spartans working with the Sangheili. The Achilles armor set is vague on its purpose, design, and origin.
I think out of the 2 helioskrill looks better. Wouldnt really use either of them since there are much better options. And the problem with achilles is that like many other armor sets it looks like its out of place (maybe more fitting on destiny or like) and that it looks like useless design, also the historical mixing really doesnt look good to me (as in it looks like hoplite, or similar, style of helmet with visor smacked on the middle).
And I think helioskrill is more about skill whereas the achilles is more about grinding with other people. As far as you get them by the usual method as in with achievement and other by playing while joined in a clan.

All Helioskrill paintjobs are in Golds now, even the base Helioskrill variant.
I am currently grinding for Achilles but I also want to get better on the competitive side so I don’t relay mind the grind but I would say join an active spartan company and if you get it you get it. If you like the Helioskrill better work towards that one though.
Helioskrill because it’s the closest you can get to a Elite
