Whatever happened to the infamous GRD helmet?

I heard rumor before Halo 4 was released that the GRD helmet from halo reach was going to be in halo 4 and i have yet to see or hear about it.
Also, what does 343i have that makes them stand out amongst the crowd that only they can have? i am curious about that

It was all a lie, a photoshopped version was put out on that IGN promo. And that was the only place it was ever seen, no-one ever saw it in game.

Budgie had the flaming helmet from halo 3, and the blue flame in reach until they gave that away

It was seen in many more promotional images, not just ign ones, considering it was front page on the Xbox dashboard and they don’t use images from ign or gamespot

Ok, show me a clip or a screenshot from in game play, you cant, because it never was real.

Did the GRD helmet ever get released in Reach in the end?

> Did the GRD helmet ever get released in Reach in the end?

No. There were several rumors and speculations, but in the end, no real official explanation. There was even a hugely long thread in the Reach forum on Bnet about it.

Yeah, and some serious confrontation between the side that said was coming and the side that wasn’t

Actually, it was seen in-game in the armory at one point during a Bungie playdate that was streamed online. The guys and gals at Bungie claimed that it had nothing to do with them, being an experiment on 343i’s part. Later on, I believe it was Frankie that said that they were working on bringing new armour into Reach with Halo Anniversary, but they couldn’t get it working well enough in time to be shipped with the game, so the idea was scrapped.

At least, that’s what people say. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me on that.

It wasnt photoshop dude, it was a glitch, the helmet rendered incorrectly in the beta state of the map pack. You’re right to say that it never existed, but your wrong in saying it was Photoshop.

Lets not turn this into an epically long speculation thread. The truth is that we may never know the truth.
