They were a problem overlooked in this wave of changes, so I figured I’d share my opinion on it. It seems like no grenade ever bounces the same. It’s like I’m tossing a football (American football) on the ground! Sometimes they feel like shooting across the map after bouncing, and other times they just sit there. Has anyone else noticed this? I think it’s because of how there’s a different texture for seemingly every square inch of the maps in this game. Another problem is how they’re affected by movement. Their velocity is dependent on what direction you’re moving, and it thinks that makes randomness. If you swaying back in forth during a strafe, you can’t even throw one. So yeah.
This would be really nice to see fixed. Here’s a perfect example of a fail grenade that happened this morning.

Extremely annoying, especially in cases like this where it causes me to grenade a teammate.
Yes, it’s beyond awful. Nades are completely unpredictable, they just do what they want. You try to bounce and they get caught in textures… you try to make it stick and they bounce 50 yards away from you.

PERFECT example. There is absolutely no reason for that grenade to just stop dead like that.

Nobody said anything about the power or range of nades, try reading the OP next time genius.
Frags are ridiculously overpowered. I liked it in halo 3 where grenades were used to take shields down, which gave you a fighting chance when fighting 2 or 3 people. Now n00bs throw these things like it’s going out of style (Sargent Johnson ODST ad). I don’t go near the gravity room in sword base cuz my shields will be stripped by my teammates grenades and then I’ll be finished off by an enemy grenade. Grenades can come in handy, but the kill and damage radius should at least be lowered.

I’ve been wanting a grenade fix as well, preferably, I wish for them to be more like they were in Combat Evolved, with a longer fuse, more deadly (and splash damage), and longer range. The range is also affected by the fact that they hardly even bounce off walls when you throw them, and it’s like there’s glue on the ground when they’re tossed. And you can always hear them, that whispering, blowing wind of death every time. I do like how you get deafened with that ringing noise though.
And what’s up with them looking like fireballs?? I missed the smoke that came out when you threw them. Anyway, that’s just nitpicking there.
EDIT: I know I went off topic some, but I’m just stating other things along with what was posted that I don’t like about the grenades in Reach.
