What?

Why are you removing Select? I have seriously nothing else to add. It’s a completely unwarranted action and Select is easily one of the better community maps.

I ask again, why are you “retiring” Select?

If Select is the map I’m thinking about, then it was a good map and I see no need for its removal.

But if it’s one of the MANY maps in this game that are terrible, then finally.

I have a feeling that the transition to Halo 4 is beginning. Over the coarse of the coming months leading up to Halo 4, the number of playlists, maps, gametypes, etc. will be reduced to the essentials just like what happened with Halo 3 leading up to Reach.

Select was a good map, but Forge maps in general are plaguing so many playlists that a reduction is needed. I just wish they could have picked a different map instead.

It was the one that looks like it was inspired by Narrows.

There are Rockets on top of a rather large hill in the middle, there are gravity lifts that take you from either side under neath, and there is a Sniper Rifle under each spawn. And it’s almost entirely made of Forge pieces.

> I just wish they could have picked a different map instead.

That’s the thing, why didn’t they? If it was REALLY necessary for them to “retire” any community map, then why did it have to be one that was constructed well, especially given that it was just updated?

That’s not the one I was thinking of. I think I was thinking of Synapse, but idk. The one in the arena section of Forge World that was dark and had rockets on one side and shotgun on the other.

The only problem I had with the Narrows remake was that people would jetpack up on top above snipe spawn. Otherwise it was well-made.

Damn this website runs so slowly.

This was one of my favorite maps! Should of removed uncaged and left Select!

I would actually applaud the removal of Uncaged. At least there’s a reason to warrant its removal.

My theory is that it was removed because it was the least selected community map. My theory on why this happened is because it was the only small Community map that never had any AR starts.

What about the Arena voting data? It was, in my experience, one of the most voted maps. Couldn’t they, at the very least, keep it in Arena and Doubles?

In my opinion, it shouldn’t have been removed at all from any playlist. I’m not trying to justify its removal; I’m only stating a theory on what I think happened. Even if my theory is right, I think it was the wrong thing to do. It’s also weird that they did this just after the map was updated

I understand that it’s only a theory, but I’m merely trying to make them reconsider on the off chance that you’re right.

It just doesn’t make any sense.

It reminds me of the removal of squad slayer…doesn’t make sense. Disappointing, it was a great map IMO.

No, it doesn’t make sense, hence I doubt any rational argument will work.

Select was a nicely balanced symmetrical map.

Take out Uncaged. THAT is the worst miserable pile of spartan barf I ever seen.

I think they removed it because they are required to make at least one brain-dead decision in every update. They probably decided on all their changes, and said “Hey, wait. We haven’t done anything yet in this update that is completely pointless or idiotic” and someone screamed across the room “Why don’t you guys take out one of the best playing community maps? People will never be able to figure out the reasoning! It’s perfect.”

And that’s how it happened.

Just quickly checked which one Select is, sad to see it go, it was fun to play on.

allthough i’ve never been a fan of select, i hate the map, it is one of the better community maps in matchmaking, if anything should have gone it should have been renova.

I’m legitimately confused here. Why remove one of the best community maps? Shouldn’t we remove/fix a bad map, like Reflection or Sword Base, instead of removing the good ones that have been added?

Renova or Enclosed should get removed they are both pure trash. Also remove bungies terrible Asylum lol
