Better solution to AR starts: Just give us BR/DMR starts. No one asked for this game to be CoDified, people absolutely screamed and shouted whenever someone brought up custom loadouts and perks.

This game isnt “CODified”, its a FPS with elements that all currnt FPS share, or should i compare Far Cry 3 as a COD wanna be?
There’s nothing wrong with loadouts, it’s simply giving you the choice to start with your preferred weapon. if your a BR guy then will give it to you instead of looking for it in the map. You an AR guy, then here have it. It’s not overpowered because if one has a DMR everyone can have a DMR.

Do you think those “elements” added would have been added if CoD wasn’t nearly as popular as it is today?

Spawn killing is in every game something dev’s can’t really control unless they implement spawn protection, but they will never happen in a game like Halo.
I wanted JIP and I wanted loadouts the game needs to be versatile and they pretty much did that.

Instant spawn was added because gamers wanted faster game play. Less time respawning more time killing

Yup i do. I find that gamers like them because they can make the game fit to more of their style of play. COD get attention cause its the top game online and has been for years. I hate that gamers think COD gave us all these cool new things when they have been around much longer than COD. Im gonna say it, COD has never givin the FPS world anything new really.

Yeah, pretty much what was said before loadouts, “killstreaks/pointstreaks”, kill cams and so on.
Chances are big that spawn protection could make it to vanilla Halo 5.
JiP needs tweaking.
Loadouts I’m not fond off.

Did I say CoD invented anything? No I didn’t, neither did I even imply anything like that.
CoD just made those features popular, they are what makes CoD.
I believe, as do many others, that Halo 4 was an attempt to win over fans of CoD and other realistic shooters by implementing features that they use, such as Loadouts and Killcams.
Halo went from being a known Arena shooter to a one in a dozen Class based shooters in one small step, and one huge leap, Halo: Reach and Halo 4.
CoD I believe is the main inspiration, as do many others.

Look at trends in games before CoD4 came out.
Then look at them after CoD4 came out.
All FPS’s share these features because they were popularized by mainstream games like CoD and Battlefield.

JIP is fine but needs tweaking.
Loadouts would be fine with just being able to choose your weapon.
Bloom, meh.
Spawn Killing, undecided.
I did not hate Forge World or Forge maps. What I hated was the -Yoink- maps that Bungie decided to put into the playlists.
There is not a single Invasion map besides the default ones that I enjoy.
> Instant spawn was added because gamers wanted faster game play. Less time respawning more time killing
If you don’t punish players for being reckless and dying, there’s little point.
Oddball for example, due to instant respawn I have to kill and kill and KILL until I finally get an opportunity to grab the ball.
If there was a five second respawn, the enemy couldn’t rush at me the instant they died, so killing them would actually be effective.

And to compensate we now require larger maps to play on… I’d rather have a decent map with a 3 second timer. This was not a wise decision. Do don’t even need a beta to know this.
Grenade spamming still exists in halo 4 and its even worse with the terrible map designes. And I think its funny that I can find a match in reach faster than I can with JiP in H4
they need to fix CL’s remove perks and nerf DMR’s SPREAD

YES! I WOULD! Especially the multiplayer!
Your argument is that it’s not using mechanics that CoD popularized because other games do it too? That’s just ridiculous.
Custom load outs, perks, progressive weapon unlocks, you simply can’t get any more codified. Might as well just cancel Halo and just start making CoD: 2554

Great addition! I’m one of the people that hates being down a man or more. It’s implementation in Halo 4 isn’t perfect though, it needs some tweaking.
Also like this addition too. Did they go too far by adding perks?, maybe. But I’m glad we get to start with our utility weapon of choice. I hated AR starts, but then again some people like them and hate BR/DMR starts. Hell some people hate both and want to start with their trusty Carbine. This is a win.
The DMR is a little OP’d but I hopeful the TU will help.
It’s still there and some of these forge maps are proof of that.
Forge maps are great, I just don’t want MM to be dominated by them like Reach. Forge world was cool but its size caused problems.
