I have wondered about this- Its quite interesting to consider. I somehow doubt the Covenant would negotiate- They’d likely prefer to allow the prophet to be a martyr, merely strengthening their resolve.
As for the mission itself- Hard to say. There would certainly be… Snags.
I highly doubt it would have worked. Capturing Regret or Mercy wouldn’t have done any good since Truth would have happy to let them die. Even if they captured Truth I have severe doubts that the Covenant could have been dissuaded from pursuing revenge (they’re leadership was never the most level headed). That’s not even taking into account the nigh impossibility of actually finding High Charity, somehow getting on board, capturing a Prophet, and getting him out. The only reason Chief was able to kill Regret was because Truth held back reinforcements and wanted Chief to kill him, and Chief only made it as far as he did on High Charity because of the chaos caused by the Great Schism and the Flood invasion. Operation RED FLAG wouldn’t have had that good fortune.

> Do you think that the PoA’s upgraded armament and defenses would’ve given it the chance to even land infantry on High Charity?
> No, they would not get close at all unless literally the entire UNSC armed forces was with them.
> Could the UNSC’s forces have succeeded in the capture a prophet?
> Yes if done properly.
> If they did capture a prophet, that the UNSC could get the Covenant to the negotiation table, or would they continue the human genocide without him?
> **Truth would have betrayed Mercy and Regret, and Mercy and Regret would have betrayed Truth.**Just kinda curious on what people think about RED FLAG
