what would you put in halo 5 guardians?

I’m going to quickly share what I think would make halo 5 guardians a great game.

Then I want to hear your ideas because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I want to know what you think of my ideas.

For campaign:

  1. campaign matchmaking. This is a must!

  2. dark story.

  3. 10 to 12 mission excluding prologue/epilogue. Halo 4 was too short.

  4. More than one playable character. We know chief and Locke are playable but maybe arbiter?

Firefight:

  1. it’s a simulation like war games so maybe we can go to old locations and fight old enemies too.

  2. customizable like reach with other playlists like survival

Multiplayer:

  1. keep sprint! It was perfectly balanced.

  2. make covenant weapons useful and make people want to use them

  3. bring all halo 4 armors plus popular ones back from reach and other classics

  4. remake sandtrap and ragnarok

  5. don’t just focus on the 4v4 but also for 343 to give some love to BTB

  6. invasion. I already know it’s not coming back but maybe something else like it.

  7. playable elites

Spartan Ops:

  1. BETTER OBJECTIVES!!! I think I speak for most people here. It was soooo repetitive.

  2. longer more unique missions.

  3. at least 10 chapters again.

Old weapons like my good ol’ brute shot. I miss you baby. :frowning: Also I think Spartan Ops should be scrapped. Firefight for the win.

Campaign1.) This would be very nice, but not a must for me. People in matchmaking can be trolls and can potentially ruin someone’s experience with the game, especially if it’s their first time playing through it.
2.) I think you are getting that.
3.) Agreed as long as they maintain quality. I would rather have 3 amazingly bad -Yoink- missions that I want to play time and time again rather than 40 I will forget in a month. Remember Quality>Quantity.
4.) Both Chief and Locke have teams of 4, so I think we will see something very similar to how Gears of War 3 handled the situation. You have a team of yourself, and 3 AI players, who can become controllable based off how many actually people are playing with you.

Firefight
1.) I would prefer different locations. Remember we have full sprint now, and clamber. Maps from old Firefight’s won’t feel exactly right with these conditions. With that said, you can remake a map to feel correct for a game, even though I still want them to make fresh maps in total.
2.) If they don’t do this, then I would have to facepalm and realize that they didn’t understand what made Firefight amazing.
3.) Allow us to forge on Firefight maps. I’m not saying we need to have a forgeworld to make a firefight map on, but allow us to determine cover locations as such, just make it so that we can’t unlock achievements on forged maps.

Multiplayer
1.) I agree, but they should also allow for us to alter it in custom games. IE, turning off sprint, and turning off delay to recharge while in sprint.
2.) They made Covenant weapons very useful in Halo 4 to the point that this UNSC only fan loved them, so I hope they continue that trend.
3.) I would rather have the ability to customize skins for armors (IE, the patterns on the armor), as well as customize individual shoulders, wrists, legs.
4.) I would prefer a remake of Blood Gulch. Infinite sprint would allow you to transverse the map faster, and it’s open sight lines would keep people from running straight down the middle.
5.) 100% agree, BTB FTW
6.) I think that is Firefight bud, sorry… With that said, I THINK they are allowing for multistaged objective games.
7.) I hope they do.

Spartan Ops
I won’t go over your request, but I will say that while I appreciated Spartan Ops, I didn’t love it. I would prefer Halo 5 doesn’t have Spartan Ops, and applies the room the disk would require to be applied to the other areas listed above. Like I said earlier, Quality>Quantity.

I agree too. Quality over quantity. No doubt.

The CE Pistol as a Legendary Weapon… The whole concept of Legendary Weapons is rad to me, especially since the original SPNKr is one.

And something tells me that the CE Pistol is going to be in the game too (Josh Holmes’ acknowledged the fan’s tweet, who had the idea originally, saying that it was a great idea). Happened quite a while ago though… Hope it ends up making it in!

EDIT: Oh… and I’d like to see a Guardian remake tailored to Halo 5’s gameplay. :smiley:

Yes, the CE Pistol would be a power-weapon, and the standard pistol could still be a secondary weapon off-spawn… No problem with that. And it would be a nice nostalgic nod to classic Halo!

I’ll tell you what I think! I think I wholeheartedly agree! As for what I would put in Halo 5, I was thinking (dangerous I know) they could make the Legendary version of the SMG dual wieldable. Think about it! Upon pick up, these weapons would always be dual wielded. But, because dual wielding technically isn’t in the game, you would be able to bash and switch weapons while using them. In order to balance them out, they would have Suppressor levels of spread, and you would lose the ability to smart scope. However, when the scope button is pressed the SMGs are focused, similar to the Energy Sword and the Prophets Bane, giving you greater accuracy at the cost of movement. As for their design, I imagined the Legendary SMG’s appearing as the classic M7 caseless SMG; the same ones the Master Chief wields in the first Battle of Earth. That, in my opinion, is what makes them legendary.

The SMG is perfect as it is (assuming the nerf to it’s range was applied correctly post beta). Also Smart Scoping isn’t ADS, therefore, there is no reason it would decrease in accuracy, or be harder to zoom in with them. I just say leave that kind of stuff out of the game IMO.

Wasn’t the Energy Sword perfect as it was? Why introduce the Prophets Bane then? Because It’s not about trying to achieve perfection, it’s about creating diversity. What’s wrong with creating that diversity while at the same time essentially placing dual wielding in Halo 5? And if I may add, the decrease in accuracy while using the Legendary SMGs comes from the fact that you are dual wielding the M7 SMGs. Those things have quite a lot of kick. And how would you expect to zoom in at all while dual wielding? I’m not saying it would be harder, I’m saying it would be non-existent.

I think it would be cool to add camo’s to weapons

Not loadouts, but in the player customization screen you would see a tab called weapon camo’s and you can select how you want that gun to look for you.
So let’s say i pick arctic BR, ( i would love to see a map like H2 containment with a snow storm ) then my BR would be arctic upon starting.

Also i think it would be cool if we could unlock different colors for our hud’s and Scopes. The blue is best in terms of visibility, but hey if someone likes red let them choose it
(Would be kinda cool for something like a terminator themed machinima).

Chief’s campaign Mark 6 armor.
I would also love to see the Halo wars Spartan Armor, it looked legendary. ( I would make this one the hardest to unlock next to Chief’s Mark 6)

Campaign:

I want a long 3 way SP with Chief, Arbiter, and Locke. Have the characters missions mixed like H2 did.

Multiplayer:

Heavies playlist with nice maps (Loved heavies in Reach and 4)
