What would you like to see in H:CE?

If you could have ANYTHING added/improved/fixed in Halo: Combat Evolved, what would it be?

Everyone wants the netcode to be improved. If I had to guess thats the top requested improvement for CE.

The netcode is priority #1 that is obvious, people with crappy internet have a huge advantage as of now. Pistol spread needs some love as well and the no spread hardcore settings negate a lot of shooting skill(just hold it down). Shotgun spread is a joke and host disadvantage is befuddling to say the least. A talking timer would be a cool addition.

I’d like some of the popular custom edition maps added if that’s possible … Don’t care about a timer, would much rather them spend their energy on something else.

Frame Rate improvements. When playing the campaign the frame rate drops and the movement stutters and crap. So it definitely needs addressed.

Fix the bloom asap. I made a whole post for this and why it should be fixed.

Netcode.
2 Classic also needs the netcode fixed.

I really wanted new maps to be added, I saw this mod for Halo CE that has more maps and those looks amazing! Also the 1999 trailer Master Chief Armor, why not! Then new visors (those animated as in Halo 3) and more weapon skins for sure

Here’s my personal wish list, give or take it:

  • The MA5B (The Assault Rifle) accuracy needs severe improvement. It’s an ASSAULT RIFLE. The whole point of that weapon class in real life is to support medium ranged combat, meanwhile in the game you practically have to be hugging your target to score any hits as it has worse spread than even some contemporary shotguns. - Also a bit of a stretch, but playable elites for CE? As someone who has engaged in modding it actually isn’t too hard to pull off. The only things missing from this being feasible is lack of first person and some vehicle animations, other than that they are capable of anything the cyborg biped is in the engine. Hell even for some additional customization there are actually two armor classes that you could switch between. (You may notice the permutations of elites in the campaign, some have a crested helmet while others have the more renowned minor helmet.) This could also open the door for a spartan permutation; The 1999 Mac reveal armor. So there would be two spartan armors, and two elite! - The Wraith as a drivable vehicle, this too is quite as simple as checking a box in the wraith’s tag file and giving the cyborg biped an animation to enter it. It could be an option in multiplayer and be stolen in campaign if the player manages to snipe the driver before it reaches the vehicle.

A Blood Gulch CTF playlist. The vast majority of my time spent on Halo CE in the past was spamming those games and it’s really my favorite part of the game. I would love to check the box to increase my chances at getting this game type. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who would love this as well.

Playable Elites, drivable Wraith, useable energy sword, and perhaps the ability to use the editing tools on console. That is really all I want for CE.

CE Firefight where you can play as Master Chief, an Elite, Captain Keyes, Sgt Johnson and the various Marines.

Also what others have said Custom Editon maps like Ascetic added, playable Elites, usable Wraiths and Energy Swords, stuff like that fleshing out the sandbox.

I would really love a CE firefight mode. Some of the campaign maps have some areas with great potential to be used as firefight maps.

New armour would be really cool tbh

Spawning in MP.
On some smaller maps, I can spawn like 10 feet from an enemy, and have to do the little ‘gun ready’ animation before being able to move.
I already have 2 magnum hits to the head before I’ve even turned. SWAT can be infuriating.

Jump response time.
Potential hot topic, as its kinda part of the CE experience, but when going back after playing the other games, it can be quite annoying when you time a jump, only to run off the edge of a platform because the response time is slower.
Like I say, it’s sort of one of those things that make CE what it is, but I probably think about it once per mission.

Came back to add Linda!
Now that we have an established voice actor for her in 5 (Andrea Bogart), I’d love it if 343 could record some voice lines, along with Steve, Jen, and Pete, so that she could have an actual role in the story when playing co-op. Even if it was just occasional banter between her, Chief and Cortana in between the original dialogue. They could even change the colour of her armour to match her Halo 5 colour.

I know it’s not technically canon, because she was clinically dead floating in space, but it would certainly add something new to the experience.

The last thing 343 needs to do is tweak the game balance. Fans of CE as it is will flip

Can you elaborate further? This is the first I am hearing of this.

from what i remember the CEA version doesnt have the file that loads on each map that tweaks its damage and accuracy as its supposed to have tighter spread and what not. I could be wrong and they fixed it along time ago but from playing halo CE swat it feels really scuffed still.
