So this is more or less a wish list of what you would like improved on if they ever made Halo Wars 2 (something like this has probably been posted before, but Halo Wars 2 will only happen if we continue to show support). Feel free to post your ideas on ways that would make a great game even better, be it either new ideas or improvements on old ones.
To get the ball rolling I’ll start with opinion.
More in depth unit selection; so you can have a bigger variety of Units.
Space battles would make an awesome addition to the game and add a whole new dimension to the combat styles.
And probably my most strongest of beliefs is a Conquest like game mode, seen in such RTS’s as Star Wars: Empire at War. I think it would be a great idea to be able to defend UNSC held planets, or join the Covenant and destroy them.
If they have space battles i’d like them to be similar to those in Empire at war, with individual hit points on all the ships allowing you to disable engines weapon ect. though in Empire at war full pop split of fighter/bomber will mostly beat the hell out of cap ships. (Bombers down shields and engines whilst fighter swarm the hull downing weapons and defend against enemy fighters)
Conquest sounds fun
but i think a wider unit selection may or may not be a good thing. Halo wars 1 sold on how simple it was to play. Adding complexity will make it more painful to play on console.
I want drone squads as anti infantry aircraft. Seriously, give me drones. I want the maps to be bigger. Make all units bigger. Expand the range of the wraiths plasma cannon and also give the UNSC some expensive but very long range and powerful artillery units. Allow marine squads to specialise more. Say you can upgrade you’re marines to rockets, flamethrowers, snipers, close combat. Give close combat units a speed and damage buff as well as introducing more of them. Maybe, maybe (but this may be too complicated for a console game) allow individual units to have more than one active ability. Gonna be hard to map that to a gamepad though.
Have a few sync kills if you are killed in close combat (energy sword, arbiter, chief, brutes, Spartans, or marines [using combat knifes or something similar]. I do realise they tried to do this before and struggled because -if I remember correctly- it was difficult to do on the xbox, but halo wars 2 should be a 4th gen game anyway
Have terrain scaring such as when artillery hits or grenades are thrown or a scarab is blown up or a base just got blown up.
I am really hoping they’re going to make a halo wars 2. If they make one their will be a lot of high level compitition back, tournaments where u could win money,and more viable combos. here are some things that i would like to see in halo wars 2.
1.) They need to fix the leaderboards, make it so boosting is impossible by making it so it doesnt matter what the ts of the people your playing with matter. Just make it so wins and losses matter. Like make it so if you beat somone with a 9/1 winloss ratio u get more ts than somone with a 5/7 winloss ratio. Also use a proxy so u dont get dc by BKs.
2.) They also need to scrap the campaign and only have multiplayer maps, if they do this there will be more space on the disc for more multiplayer maps. There could be 6 to 8 3v3 maps, 10 to 12 2v2 maps, and 10 to 12 1v1 maps. This would make this game so much better and will keep people playing for years with lots of compition the whole time.
3.) They also need to fix a lot of the glitches such as the rage glitch, cani glitch, arby recall glitch(the one where he is flying and can go in rage mode in the air so he cant get insta canide when he recalls), the vortex glitch, the warthog climb over stuff it shouldnt glitch, ect.
4.) They also need to have the flood/forunner in multiplayer as something you can play as and have 3 or 4 of them u can play as. Also they need to add a 4th unsc and a 4th covedant.
5.) They also need to get rid of all the other game modes so there will be even more compition in standard the only viable play list.
6.) They also need to make some things back the way they were when the 1st halo wars came out. A fast prophet, an easy to control arbitor, grizzly better then power turret ect
7.) Lastly it may be a good idea to add more types of units that do more things. For example possibly an anti infintry air unit, or anti vehicle unsc infintry unit ect
Basic marine / movement speed rebalance.
Marines should be the core of the unsc army, and effectively work as cannon-fodder. Right now they do absolutely nothing, and gunner/gren/gauss is used as a replacement to cheap, light anti-air.
Lots of great ideas; another one just came to me, something similar to the Battle Cam off Star Wars: Empire at War to give some of the fights a more cinematic feel would be pretty cool. But as for the idea that was mentioned to scrap campaign, I’m not too keen on that.
I want a better way to select units. Maybe allow us to scroll both left and right instead of just right when toggling which unit type we want out of the current selection.
Also the AI in general in Halo Wars is really dumb and often times doesn’t listen when given basic commands. That definitely needs to be improved.
Little balance tweaks and additional units added here and there is all that’s really needed to spice things up enough IMO, although I’m guessing there’s a possibility for a new race with Halo 4 on the horizon.
Personally, I just want three things. One, a more in depth Campaign, as the original was awesome, I didn’t feel sad when (spoilers) Forge died. Two, a Covenant Campaign, about as long as the Human Campaign. Three, a Battlefront-like Galactic Conquest mode, where both sides will take turns in offensives, vying for control of land areas or entire worlds, and gain bonuses for victories, maybe like faster spawn times, more powerful characters, earlier access to special unit, and so on. That’s all I want. The game was really good, especially the cinematics, which were like, wow.

Arbiter is already at a huge disadvantage vs both prophet and brute in 2s.
The only reason he could ever have a chance is because he can cost effectively rage almost everything if you let him.
I feel like the D-bomb should have a shorter cooldown. It’s messed up that a covenant leader can die and attack my base like 3 or 4 times in the time it takes for my D-bomb to cool down once.

He recalls, you split your hogs.
If you drop a dbomb, you need to be able to kill his arbiter without 1 within the next minute and a half.
empire at war was and still is my favorite RTS so i would love some features to come from it. conquest and space battles definitely, hitpoints and battle cam im not too fussed about though.

Is the cooldown really only a minute in a half? It feels way longer than that.
