Serious question.
I’m not trying to vent my infinite frustration with the way 343 has handled Halo (thank god there are many other threads designed exactly for that purpose). I’m just genuinely interested in what it would take (in terms of marketable skills and work experience) to be a considered a fit to essentially take <mark>someone</mark>'s job.
If you don’t know who <mark>that person</mark> is, <mark>they’re</mark> the Head of 343 industries, the studio who (unfortunately) makes Halo. Nothing wrong with <mark>them</mark> personally and 343 has certainly done a few things right.
However, we’re 2 games in with them, and I don’t think it’s criminal to think a new team could do better…
So yeah, please share your thoughts, extra points if you’re actually knowledgeable about the gaming industry and how these things work. For once a polite and educated conversation is being invited so… thanks to everyone willing to share what they know and help a generation of people who could potentially be motivated to build careers in the gaming industry and take matters into their own hands to some degree.
Cheers.
First you have to go to school…
Ross graduated from Colorado State University in 1989 with a degree in Technical Communication and a concentration inPhysics and Computer Science.[2][3
You have to become a furry
Lots of -Yoink!-, alcohol, and you need to sacrifice a grunt to the great food nipple in the sky. Probably writing a poem about Palmer doesn’t hurt.
Well, for starters, I would say posting here isn’t going to help you
Off the top of my head: graduate from High School with AP math, take calculus I, II, III, and physics in college, take courses like computer software and programming language (have consistently high grades), grab a bachelor’s degree, apply to 343, and after a certain number of years, if you’re competent enough, you might be promoted to head of the industry.
And now all of the people here who’re saying, “I’m gonna work for 343 and fix Halo!” have suddenly gone quiet.
Just because she’s the head of 343 it doesn’t mean she’s making ALL of the Halo gameplay and developmental decisions. Typically VPs and department heads have a more managerial role. Where their main goal is ensuring they’re hitting their revenue targets.
To really effect any change on the game itself, it’d be better to look further down the food chain like the game devs.
Just prove you can make sub par Halo games
hahaha kidding… Or am I… .
You have to prove that you have no understanding of the halo franchise if you want to be on par with the current head
