What would it take for you personally to not buy Halo 6? I am not making a topic to bash on 343i, or for other people to bash on 343i, but I just want to create discussion. Will you continue to buy Halo no matter what because you love the franchise, or are you willing to not buy the game unless it earns your money?
Here are reasons that I won’t buy the game at launch.
If it doesn’t have split screen at launch
If it doesn’t have Forge at launch
If it doesn’t have Theater mode at launch
If it doesn’t have both a competitive(arena) and social playlist at launch.
If it doesn’t have a file share (or something like it) at launch.
Here is something I don’t think is likely, but if it doesn’t have online co-op at launch.
What would it take for you to not buy Halo 6 at launch?
If a review comes out saying it has a less-than 8 hour campaign. Though I guess that’s subjective based on the player and the difficulty. My biggest concern with Halo 6 is the story direction. If the multiplayer is lacking at launch like with Halo 5, it probably wouldn’t prevent me from buying 6 outright, but it would lead me to seek a second-hand copy and would prevent me from buying 7.

I’m personally not concerned with the length of the campaign, but I care about the quality and story being good. But I would love to see a long good campaign.

Good point about quality; if the campaign were lengthy and drawn out but unsubstantial and otherwise narratively poor, it would prevent me from buying Halo 7, 8, 9, etc. Though quality is something subjective and has to be experienced personally. Campaign length, while not really correlating to quality, is at least a measurement I can judge the experience on before buying.

Pretty much. I don’t have almost 3,000 posts on a Halo forum for no reason.

I would to buy H6 based off the campaign of H5 than I would not buy it for sure

I get you are a fan of Halo, but does it take putting Halo on the title of game for you to buy it? No matter what? Now matter how bad it is?

I’m a Halo fan too, but they have to do more than use the name Halo to earn my purchase.

Essentially. I have enough liquid income that I’m not going to worry too much over $60 spent on a game. I’ve spent way more on entertainment that has lasted me way shorter of a time period than any Halo game has. Besides, voting with my wallet didn’t really seem to work as far as REQ packs go, so it shouldn’t make a difference in the bottom line of 343 and their profits if I buy/don’t buy the full game on launch.
I would also never quantify Halo 4 or Halo 5 as a bad game. Sure, they’re not complete Halo experiences IMO, but they’re not bad games. I’ve bought Assassin’s Creed titles that are much worse games than Halo 4 or 5.

Pretty much. I may not play it for long if its terrible, but I will at least give it a shot
