the only ways he would be able to survive would be if 343 finished talking to arbiter and he sees the folly of the great journey or arbiter died…yeah i’ll go with the first one.
he would obviously let arbiter join the heretic’s rank’s but what else he probably would ally with the humans because they have a common enemy and the humans were wrong by the prophets just like the covenant because the prophets have been lying about the great journey and saying the humans dissacrated the holy artifacts left by the forerunners. the war would probably end a month or two sooner because they had extra forces. the elites that were betrayed originally would probably be betrayed in this circumstance as well because regret would still be killed by master chief and truth being truth would still betray the elites and ship master would also still join the humans. heretic leader i don’t know his real name please tell me what it is, would most likely be there for truths death. well let me know what you think and sorry for the the delay in posts.
Well it sounds as though you partially answered your own question I’m sure that they would’ve joined forces, but they would have to be able to leave the planet’s system alive since by then they were considered an enemy of the covenant.
At the time, Thel was still extremely devoted to the Covenant. I doubt the words of one heretic would have swayed him on the spot. It wasn’t until Thel saw the deaths of his fellow Elites on the orders of the Prophets that he started to consider that the Great Journey was a lie.
Probably gonna repeat Chimera’s words here, but best case scenario, Thel would’ve considered Sesa’s words as a small grain of salt (or a red herring), hardly thinking about it until things start adding up before the Great Schism.
I’ve always wondered. If you watch the terminals in H2A, then you see that the Heretic had a lot of respect for Thel Vadame, I probably mispelled that, but the Heretic believed when Thel became the Arbitor he would follow the prophets regardless. I do think that the if the Heretic did convince Thel, then he would have become either a character like the Shipmaster, OR would have challenged Thel for the power and authority to lead the Elites instead of the Arbitor. I get the feeling that the Heretic not only wanted to break the Elites from the Covenant, but also be the one who leads them, considering he said just that.
