What would Halo be if run by another developer?

Would it be like what 343I is doing, or more differnt?

I’d say different, probably worse to be honest. I’m pretty sure whoever would pick up Halo would know that they would have to change it up. While the changes that 343 made weren’t the best, I can definitely say they were alright/good. The developer who picked up Halo could’ve had the publisher be Ubisoft or Activision and that wouldn’t be good. But thats just what I think, I could be wrong

It wouldn’t exist. Let’s just pray Activision never gets it’s claws on it.

Bungie and 343 did a great job so probably even more greatness.(Unless its Activision)

It would probably still have grinding, random Reqs and free maps, unless Microsoft decided to sell the franchise. After playing Gears, cheap packs/grinding to ensure some pay over grinding. I find that I despise that most about any game. BF4, I used a weapon, I unlocked -Yoink- after so many kills, probably the same with 3. Only played a few matches before 4 was released, and then the Bad Company campaigns. If I want to grind, I will play Diablo.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Titanfall 2 takes the same approach being as I read they might/will have free maps.

It likely wouldn’t be the Halo we know and care about.

Depends on which developers we’re talking about. Are we talking Blizzard? Sony? Bethesda? God-awful Activision?

I’d want the Coalition seeing as how they have stayed loyal to the roots of Gears of War when making the remaster of Gears 1 and what they appear to be doing with Gears 4. I think it would be vastly different if the Coalition had been in charge, I believe they would have made Halo out of respect for the original trilogy instead of trying to “make it their Halo” like 343 Industries keeps trying and failing to do.

I mean, I’ve never played any of the Gears games (though I kinda want to), so I can’t offer any comparisons. I’m gonna wait and see how Gears 4 turns out to see if you’re correct (Logic dictates a competent ability to stay true one’s own Intellectual Property before taking on the responsibility of another’s).

I imagine, instead of sprint, we would have some Portal-esque game mechanics to get around quickly.

What would happen if Infinity Ward did it? The Modern Warfare Trilogy they made was pretty good although it might be Halo.

Well, basically some company who would have a passion for Halo. A big fan of it, so to speak.

And that would be…? I’m basically just asking for names here, cause I don’t see any companies besides Microsoft/343/Bungie showing ANY sign of interest in the Halo IP.

Are you referring to something like the gun from the game, Portal? Or, are you referring to the teleporters that were used in Halo 1 and Halo 2?

If they hadn’t changed it, it would’ve been a scam to buy Halo if it would be the same game with the same mechanics all over again.

Portal gun fun!
All kinds of possibilities…
Think you’re about to splatter me with a ghost? BAM! You’re flying off the map!
Suddenly there are new ways into the enemy core!
Trying to discreetly cap an armory and need to bring in backup? Bring the whole team!

But there needs to be a cost to travel… like if you teleport yourself, or someone on your team, then the teleporting player arrives at the destination damaged with zero shields & 1%health.

well thats what happens in franchises, well if they’re trying to be consistent at least.
