What would be your ideal new mode in Infinite?

Obviously there’s a lot of contention right now about whether or not Halo should have a battle royal, but what happened to originality when it comes to gamers hopes for new game modes? The game isn’t out yet and we can all speculate wildly about what we want. Sure, it’s a very long shot any of these things will come to pass but it’s enjoyable enough to discuss. It just seems like no one has any creativity or imagination left.

If you could design a new mode, PVP or PVE, for Infinite what would it be?

I’m not a developer so I don’t even know if this is technically possible to do, but I’d love to see a mode that blended Halo Wars RTS with the mainline FPS mechanics. Basically the way it would work would be each team gets a small amount of Spartans that players control. Somewhere between 4 and 10 on each team. They would handle just like any other Infinite mp mode from an FPS perspective.

However, in this mode, each team also gets a commander. Someone who views the match from an RTS perspective that can spawn AI unites like marines and ODSTs, coordinate them around the map, build fortifications, provide weapon and vehicle drops, and has special abilities like glassing that have a long cooldown time.

Think outside the box, what is a mode you’d want to see?

50v50-100v100 massive battleground. The game continues until objective is completed but you keep all progress, exp, and rewards if you leave but you get a bonus is you stay the whole game.

Objective could be 1 team defends a point while another attacks and attackers have to destroy or take over the point. Could be a warzone like objective where you push each other back to their base to win.

Bring in vehicles such as Scarabs, sabres, and whatnot for massive chaos. AI Allies, 1 team having maybe Covenant allies while the other UNSC. Or 1 team has Banished while the other has SoS.

An endless wave shooter mode with objectives to unlock weapons, equipment, vehicles, abilities and map areas. Firefight is too barebones for me.

I could buy into that. Reach Firefight compared to ODST has the real drawback that it doesn’t require anywhere near as much cooperation. I can’t even remember the last time a matchmade game of that had someone with a mic and I miss that. Modes which reward teamwork and give you the chance to make connections with new players.

If Infinite doesn’t have a commander mode anywhere when it launches, you can check out BF4 and Natural Selection for that style mode.

I’ve always thought the RTS-FPS blend would be cool, bit I doubt Halo will have it.

I hope there’s a new mode based off Breakout. I thought it was really good at H5 launch, and then the first map refresh and balance refresh both ruined it for me.

Dual-Wield Elite

A mode where you hold a sangheili in each hand.

Mode of 50vs50 type killing kings in which it is of trios and with more eliminations, more score there will be who defeats the complete trio that goes first and you will be seen on the map and you must survive

I was thinking more like Planetside 2 but with AI and better objectives and more open maps than warzone

A mode where you fight against Elites and Banished to retrieve an AI or other valuable item. This will be a 4-8 person mode where you have to fight into a base, bunker, or different structure. You will have to heal your teammates if they fall down (die) and if everyone on the team falls it is mission over. Drops of vehicles and items are timed during this mode and are dropped from the Infinity. Multiple maps will exist for these missions along with a choice of difficulty.

Spider Slayer : platform focused Forge maps, where you use the grappleshot a lot of the time (not 100% grappleshot) and have access only to melee weapons and fusion coils.

Fusion slayer V.1 : You can only kill with Fusion coils. Weapons can’t do damage, but they can detonate the coils.

Fusion slayer V.2 (my preferred version): two players are on opposite sides of each other. the goal is to through the Fusion coils on the other side, while shooting coils that have been thrown.

Vehicle battles: In massive battlefields, each player has access to a large amount of vehicles with no anti-vehicle infantry weapons.

Well yeah mapsize is entirely linked to player count.

Unfamiliar with Planetside so that’s not helping but I see what you.mean

Definitly give it a shot. Its dated but a loton of fun
