What would be the point of Killcam?

Think about it, Halo has always their death cam where you can see where your opponent killed you (or at least how), plus there’s a theater mode… SO WHY would anyone speculate or rumor something that really isn’t needed when you can see how you got killed seconds after it happen or in video when the game ends…

Just an extra gimmick. Hope you can disable it in the game options.

a very pointless gimmick… if its even confirmed…

The death cam has only been in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. The death cam provided too much information post-death. Kill cams narrow the information to who killed you, how they killed you, where they shot you from, etc… Not the location of the entire enemy team. (Who uses Theater Mode to watch their deaths, anyways?)

“In marketing language, a gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something “stand out” from its contemporaries. However, the special feature is typically thought to be of little relevance or use. Thus, a gimmick is a special feature for the sake of having a special feature. It began, however, as a slang term for something that a con artist or magician had his assistant manipulate to make appearances different from reality. Such things as the manipulating of a gaming wheel led to the idea of a “gimmick” being used.”

  1. It isn’t a gimmick if it has a purpose. 2) It can’t be a gimmick if the feature doesn’t make the product stand out from the competitor’s.

you would be surprised if you were playing team doubles or FFA

Killcam can’t be used to spot every enemy on the field and provide information about their movements to your allies.
Killcam prevents camping and use of such cheap tactics, since players will learn where you are…
Killcam helps to spread knowledge, if you find a good sniper spot other will know about it, and they’ll tell others.
Killcam forces you to move and play good, a camper is a sitting duck. It also makes it a lot easier to spot a cheater, and it can be used by anyone unlike theatre that comes with restrictions (no party, no co-op etc).

Killcams killed sniping in Battlefield…

Well the first time you would be killed by a camper you would know where he is, no need for Killcam. Why should everyone know a good sniper spot, if they cannot find one themselves or figure out based on observation. I hate Killcams in other games with long range terrain. Halo I can understand, it’s fast paced and a moving type of game. But in battlefield 3, as soon as you kill someone with a sniper you know your location and the awesome scouting spot you have has been compromised and you have to move. Which in halo is good because of the maps, but in battlefield the maps are so big sniping is supposed to be somewhat stationary. :frowning:

Heres my two cents about it.

so far we have only seen it in CTF so it might be there to stop the insta spawn so they dont have to re wright the code and spend more time on other parts
