And if it was always either case, end result would be… tryna 1v1 me on Guardian?
What kind of mindset is that? You’re telling me I shouldn’t trust my mother and father who’ve raised me with love, as well as my family who’ve done nothing but support me throughout these past 21 years?
Additionally, why should that even matter? We play games to escape our reality.
And what happens if I betray them because they betrayed me and they kick me because the game decided I am the betrayer? Yeah, that seems very fair and fun by Bungie’s standards.
On another note, wars CAN be made rainbows and sunshine. If wars were actually accurate to how they were irl, it’d just make the games depressing to play, but especially unfair. If Halo and CoD games were realistic to their lore, they’ve be extremely unfun to play. Point being: If realism takes away the fun element, it should take a back seat.
I was honestly thinking of an in-game report system. But ig that sufficed for the time.
Must be nice to grow up pampered in a bubble of holy light. Not all of us have the same childhood. You gotta remember people think differently and play games differently. You shouldn’t need to trample on people to fit your own personal beliefs. That’s pretty bigoted
Alright yall. Enough. So how would yall come together on this? Maybe an in game report option?
Bring back Karma! That would do it. Mute/block without bans. If you don’t want to play someone ever again, you shouldn’t have to. People already fight over keyboard and mouse versus controller, just block them. I don’t know why it’s so difficult for 343 and Microsoft to figure this out. It’s the most simple and basic solution in the world, and they just don’t do it. I don’t understand how as time goes on and technology improves, we lose features that we had in the past
Why would they add a report system without friendly fire? I think that could be their next card if ya ask me. But idk I’m just some guy on the internet.
Must be nice to live in gloom and doom and encouraging toxicity, while being inconsiderate of the other people playing the game.
Yes, we had different childhoods. But I’m not the one who brought that out, nor should it have been brought in the 1st place.
And I think you’re not being considerate of the people on the receiving end of the toxicity. Like you said, everyone thinks differently, but 9 times out of 10, the people on the receiving end of the toxicity are not going enjoy it, nor see it as “fun”.
Assassinations are easy enough if you have both the options in player settings and the option to disable to them on a gametype level(mostly thinking ranked). Though I would point if players are going to showboat or demoralize the other team in a way that could get them killed they will find a way regardless.
As far as Elites go I think Halo 3 is probably as close as you are going to get balance wise provided you fix the literal holes in their hitboxes. Otherwise again, just need an option to force Spartan and Elite spawns per gametype.
Dual Wielding is a bit more complicated, but no impossible to fix IMO.
My main 3 changes to dual wielding would be as follows:
1.) You can holster both weapons while dual wielding. IE If you switch weapons while holding two SMGs you will pocket both SMGS instead of dropping one. The single biggest flaw with dual wielding was that it was an all or nothing affair. While that does mean that you can theoretically hold up to 4 weapons, keep in mind these are individually all weaker than other single wields and you can’t use grenades.
2.)You can now melee while dual wielding(with the weapon that would deal the most damage), but you still can’t throw grenades. I think taking 2/3 parts of Halos core gameplay, melee/grenades, was too extreme a trade off. It is more straightforward to think of dual wielding as a trade off between indirect fire(grenades) and direct fire(moar bullets)
3.)You can now hold the objective and one dual wieldable weapon without extra penalty(other objective restrictions still apply). Again one of the big flaws with dual wielding initially was that you can’t participate with objective play, now you have the option to use 1 dualie and the objective, as well as the option to holster your dualies to hold objectives normally.
This is balanced by the fact that indivudal dualies are less powerful on their own. Now you have the choice between having the option to move and fight, or juggle/ sneak while still having two more powerful single wield. Unlike the Flagnum which you pulled out from your behind, now it is a more consiece choice between offensive capability and speed.
Other suggested dualie changes include:
4.) Individual dualies have faster swap speeds to help balance their lower firepower. I don’t think the “half weapon” problem is an issue with these other changes to how dual wielding functions and certain dualies can just be spawned together on the map just like the were in Halo 3
5.)Dual wielding can’t just be a close range only affair full of nothing but bullet hoses. Dual wielding should have a number of combos available to run the gamut of ranges. So more ODST SMGs or CE Plasma Rifles and not just 3 reskinned bullet hoses like the H3 SMG, PR, and Spiker.
The overall goal here to be to give dual wielding more depth rather than just being a “rule of cool” feature with minimal actual gameplay value. It still wouldn’t be easy to balance of course, but I would like to see it get one more college try with these types of changes.
Sounds like you fit ranked playlists more, where nobody is toxic. I guess we’re all just different types of players.
Social, BTB, and Customs for life. Never ranked! Always played Halo to have fun, get drunk, goof around, and argue with friends and randoms on voice chat. Idk how Xbox has fallen so far from its origins. That being said, people should be allowed to block people they don’t like, and that would be the end of it. Bring back Karma
Nah. Too competitive. I’m not talking as someone who’s trying to sound competitive or anything, I say all this as someone who just wants to have fun, but faces these problems. Or used to, since 343 changed all that.
Yeah I do remember the karmascore being so high it caused bans. They should bring that back!! You’d feel more satisfied not matching against toxic players that way, and also know that there wouldn’t be toxicity in literally every game. Just every once and a while. Things weren’t always perfect. I’d get frustrated from every Halo. But that’s everyone.
I mean, consider this
Everyone with Good Karma plays together wholesomely
Everyone with Basic Karma plays neutrally
Everyone with Bad Karma plays toxic
If you have Bad Karma and play with Bad Karma players, and STILL get reported? Homie… You’re just pure evil at that point, if even the most toxic players are blocking you
Kicking and Karma NEED to come back
Let people play how they want to play, with who they want to play
Agreed. Microsoft if you’re reading this. This is a major turning point in the Halo community.
This should honestly be a whole separate topic and maybe a Reddit petition
I agree, I’d sign it in a heartbeat.
I’m really tired and my brain hurts hahaha I’m going to get back to you on this in the morning Spartan.
To me a little frustration, is far better than implementing an invulnerability system that causes its own issues.
I certainly don’t think they need a medal that encourages people to kill players you are already assassinating though.
I wouldn’t worry about Halo actively allowing team killing anytime soon. It’s gone and it isn’t coming back.
I honestly always laughed so hard when someone tried to save their teammate from being assassinated and accidently sniped their teammate instead of the enemy. I see no reason for friendly fire to be off. People should just understand there is a risk to your explosives and aim
