Yeah I don’t remember getting banned from getting kicked in halo 3. The only good and fair punishment was getting kicked from the game. It was social and didn’t matter much. All ya did was start another game. Nobody betrayed much in ranked games, at least on purpose.

That’s because you DIDN’T get banned for Betrayals. I betrayed people and they betrayed me, especially in Griffball or running someone over. Whether it was an accident or on purpose, nobody ever got banned for it. Only vote kicked.

I mean, it’s whatever for me. I don’t play ranked, or any competitive gamemode for that matter. But otherwise, yeah, they should still be there for social play… for fun.

Yes. This is exactly what they advertised. They had many videos of them laughing about yoinking their friends or betraying them for grabbing the vehicle or power weapon first, or being too slow with the flag. Bungie was toxic because Halo USED to be a party game for friends to banter, argue, and goof around. It was NEVER a serious competitive game by heart. 343 ruined the core of Halo
But, again, that’s only fun for the guy doing it. Not the people on the receiving end. That’s the takeaway. I hate being betrayed for no reason other than a guy being a jerk for the heck of it. And most other people in the team will share that sentiment. So really, why encourage on being toxic if that behaviour is only going to harm the enjoyment factor of the other people?

Simple. Bungie allowed people to play Halo how they wanted to play Halo. Full creativity, full customization, full free will. The polar opposite of 343. You played how you wanted to play, not how 343 wanted you to play. The devs never tried to control you or your creativity
You’re talking about the party perspective. In which case, it’s fine. It’s between friends, there’s no hard feelings. But talking from someone playing solo, it sucks.
Because at the end of the day, social play was designed to make things more fun. Sometimes I’d lol when I betrayed someone and got kicked. And I’d lol when someone betrayed me when I kicked them. It made things fun.

In my experience, those things always made my games frustrating and unfun to play, and even turn me off from playing.
Which the report button was also for. I don’t see the take away from being able to just start up another game after that.
Welcome to reality. You can’t trust your friends or family irl. Why think you can trust strangers on your team? It was a pretty realistic party game. People want to troll? They troll. People play how they want to play. Don’t like that? Betray them. War isn’t rainbows and sunshine.

Xbox Live had a report feature that would lower someone’s credibility if they were constantly cheating or playing negatively, and that would make you less likely to match with them later. Xbox Karma score. This affects ALL Xbox games, so you wouldn’t match them in any other games either. Basically a block/mute but ruins their credit score

And there were also ways to report in game too wasn’t there? It’s been so long. I remember the karma score now that you bring it up.
Not sure about in game. All I know is that people really never got banned from Xbox Live without severely breaking the TOS, they would just get ignored, and people would move on and have fun. Low Karma had harder times matching people with high Karma, so it ended up with low Karma people all playing together and being toxic together

SBMM/MMR but for people being jerks lmao. Idk why Xbox removed that feature and decided to just ban accounts nowadays. Let the toxic people play together and the good people play together. No harm no foul. These days you can get banned from Xbox Live, your whole entire account banned from all your games in your library, for saying a bad word or griefing in Minecraft or something stupid
