What would be a good, new ranked playlist?

Vertikull here,
I just have a little question. What playlist do you think should be ranked rather then social or even non-existent?

I personally think CTF should be ranked.

What do you think?

Vertikull out

CTF or Oddball.

I would like to see a ranked classic playlist(with all of the movement abilities disabled, running and strafing speeds adjusted, jump height adjusted, etc)

A playlist like that would be enough to get me to re-install Halo 5 and play it again. Hell, if they brought in a classic Warzone mode, with the same adjustments, I may even buy some REQ packs to play it.

Swords and Shotguns

CTF by a longshot. Either way, there should be a separate playlist for CTF, instead of having to look around and hoping for it in Team Skirmish or Team Arena.

Classic, and CTF.

Mercenary Slayer

No explanation? wtf is that

Idk if I would want a purely ctf playlist. It would be cool to have a dedicated Objective playlist. Like throw in Oddball, KotH, VIP, along with plenty of CTF preference and then Strongholds. Idk if I’d want that ranked though. I think it would just be fun in general though

A “Mercenary” playlist is one in which you can only join if you are alone.

Ok ok, I can get down with that.

I agree, objective based game types like CTF and Oddball should be ranked playlist because it takes a completely different strategy to win than slayer.

Also, call me crazy - but I would absolutely love to see a ranked Grifball playlist. It’s actually a genuine sport in the Halo world and I think competitive Grifball teams would be entertaining. Hell, I’d tryout. Someone, get runNOKYARDrun on this…

I would like to see that as well.

The issue is we would have to figure out a way to stop spawn killing for K/D & Medal boosting, without negatively affecting players who are playing properly. Spawn killing is an important part of Grifball, but holding the ball and NOT scoring while your teammates rack up Killionaires is a serious problem. There might be a way to fix this issue with the new scripting system, which i will be working on in my spare time.

Ya that would actually be kind of fun/cool. There are ways to fix things in Grifball that would go a long way to making it a legit competition. I would watch those matches.

Thanks for the quick reply on here!
What if players spawned in one-way shield rooms to hinder the spawn kill, but put a timer in the room to force them out within a couple seconds? Like scripting the back wall to slowly push them out. In any case, I’d love to see what you come up with. Maybe play-test a few solutions with you even. Let me know.
(You probably don’t remember me, but I’ve played against you a bit in Reach.)*

We have tried dozens of ideas like that and none have worked. Every idea so far has either hindered players who want to play normally, or introduce new ways to cheat. Your idea (which we have tested in Halo Reach) would not allow players to defend a score immediately off respawn.

I am meeting with some scripting gurus later to discuss a new idea. Will let you know how that goes.

Ahhh… true. I’m sure you’ve dedicated more time to this than I can imagine.
But seriously, I’d love to see/hear how it’s going. I’d appreciate finding out what you come up with.
Thanks again
