For the little time I did get to play btb I didn’t like it. The wasp was a huge issue for me. It was basically all I was fighting the whole time.
The vheicles are also on strict patching like you say. It made for some frustrating battles because certain paths would get bottle necked from the vheicles.
The tank sounds horrible. I guess I’m glad I didn’t drive it yet.
The turning also sounds like it needs to be fixed.
It also sounds like there is poor weapon choice. Or better yet. The game is lacking weapons to fill the void. Since there is a lack of weapons. Weapons that don’t belong end up going on the maps.
For sure. With forge comes I’m remaking all the maps. I hate them all
Something we can agree on: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (perhaps I haven’t said it here) - without a good arena 4v4 ranked and social experience, Halo flops. Without a good BTB, it suffers but can live.
Without Infection?
Good luck keeping custom games and the most casual communities alive.
You’re 100% right and I’ve only had to play about 5-6 BTB matches to realize how awful it really is. These maps and the vehicles themselves are not Big Team Battle. They’re a disgrace, a knock off, and exactly what you said “Arena” maps that just aren’t what BTB is supposed to be. I have always said I wanted Halo to be like Battlefield with it’s scale. Halo 5 had a decent idea but damn did 343 also mess that up… idk what to say man… I really do not.
I’d say in its current state the social and comepetive are to simmalir to eachother. When I want to play social I can’t because it plays exactly the same as ranked just without the BR is say currently there isn’t enough variety.
I wish I can get into btb matches. It won’t let me but from what I played so far this experience isn’t all that either.
Yes infection is way more important than 343 makes it out to be. It should’ve been a priority. Or at least give us a road map on how it will look like.
I appreciate that you can come into a different thread and speak to me like a human being. Sure we may disagree on things but Im fully capable of moving on and seeing the good in people when they show it. I have nothing against you or any other player here
My ‘Toad Road’ mode that no one on here seems interested in lol.
And I have a lot of map ideas. Tbh when Forge comes out it’ll probably be the main thing I do in the game and produce a substantial amount of content that’s hopefully well received.
If Forge allows the creation of custom campaigns I have a lot of ideas for that too.
Diamond 1 player tip: Use more than the BR, most guns are better than it!
Issue #1 is the randomized spawns. Issue #2 is the awful pelican drops. Issue #3 is everything else.
I used to run a clan in 2009-2013, The 2401st. We used to push people’s s*** in pretty hard. Here, though? No, no way. Not with the way BTB works. It’s just… A wretched mess of a mode.
I always speak like to others and as a human being. Sometimes I just have the axe out. But you’re welcome.
I’ll probably make a few gimmicky slayer maps where the map has some kind of interactability, infection maps whenever that come around, and maybe raid bases.
Fingers crossed for forgable AI though. That is something that could be very, very, fun to integrate into various projects.
Maybe a Battle Royale with its own lore? If I do make it, I plan on calling it Gladiator.
I was also thinking of making a sort of firefight where banished troops try to storm a fortified base in a map. I was also thinking that for this game mode, the Spartans could come in inside of ODST pods to signal to the player that they were emergency reinforcements. I will name this project Phalanx. (Hopefully, there can be scripted AIs for this project)
(except one that I did whilst being under the influence of something unmentionable, trippy map that is).
…and then hopefully there’s stuff added to throw up some more ideas.
I don’t usually do arena style maps and go for more heavily scripted out of the box maps (rollercoasters that turn into cable cars because the game couldn’t keep up with the speed and twister rides that can’t be called twister because of trademarks and driveable (unwelded) crabs.) so I might try a few normal arena maps too.
just to check the setting to see if its good or not… i prefers halo reached forge to halo 5s yes you had more options but reach was way more approachable i spent hours just messing around like making an under water map
That’s 9 months from now if we are lucky seeing how content has been produced in this game. Even then that’s not a guarantee it will be ready by then and you are saying it seems it’s going to be what?
A remake/reimagining of my Halo 3 map Crawlspace. Aside from spawns you have to crouch everywhere, but movement speed was set high enough that it didn’t feel slow. Tight corridors. Me and my friends had a lot of fun.
I also have a thing for platforming maps, so I’ll try my hand at that. I like em difficult. Reach was inspiring with how you could make people jump on grenades. I hope that returns. Might be interesting to see how to work in the grapple shot.
All and all though, I’m just excited to make maps again. It can be a blast, even if it takes forever.
Yeah, I hope Infinite’s is approachable too. That’s what I loved most about forge. Coming from someone who had a gaming PC at the time Halo 3 and Reach were still widely played, making/editing maps in it of itself wasn’t special. Tons of games let you do that. What made it cool to me was how easy it was to use, and how you could play in forge with friends. Well… It was easy if you weren’t trying to phase objects in 3
I did this too, when we wanted to build our dream home, I made a forge version of it so she could see everything and walk around it. Even had a garage for our warthog she could practice parking and a mongoose ride on lawnmower
I learned Halo 5 forge within 30 mins. I never understood how it was complicated to some users. Maybe because the limited control scheme? I used the elite controller to put the buttons where I wanted them too. It helped out a ton but I never saw Halo 5s forge as in approachable.
It would be my primary mode, assuming that it’s accessible from the custom games browser.
Multiplayer is nice and all, but Forge is where it’s at for me. Halo 5: Guardians showed me what it was capable of doing in terms of player engagement, and I’m ready to meet its most advanced form to date.
