So far almost every halo games has given us a new Assault Rifle…so in this new halo do you think they will pull a halo 2 and not have it in the game or like other halos create a new one because if you think about it considering the Storm Covenant is only wearing pirate gear the MA5D is technically weaker than the MA5C in halo 3 and how since it is magically aboard the dawn even thought MC puts a MA5C on the rack and not D it shouldn’t of randomly appeared in Halo 4. (just saying) but either way Maybe the New AR will be like the Original MA5B and have larger clip and more accuracy.
(that sounds weird the Halo CE AR did have better accuracy but i am saying maybe this MA5E will be like the B but more accurate.) That would be great and sort of break the Automatic weapon and ranged weapon barrier. Making Assault weapons have bigger clips. Because i like hte Halo 4 Weapons update but if the Ar and hte storm rifle and the suppressor all had bigger clips AKA giving them more of an assault weapon feel than they would be more feared and if you ask me more used.
You don’t have to discuss anything the topic is just really dull but i will say thought just think about what 343i could do introducing a new era of halo Hell they could have a Human Plasma assault rifle for the MA5E that would be badass and i hope they keep the carbine/beam rifle and add back in the Focus Rifle and needler rifle. Those two were alien weapons that felt alien and should be in the next halo. You know add in more for the covenant forces and to really make them feel rag tag. make them use humans weapons as well. Make them look like they need to TRY to survive. They lacked with this in Halo 4 but they can change it.
P.S. Halo spartan Assault has brutes and please can someone awnser this question.
Are the Elites and Brutes in Spartan Assault on the same side or against each other? you all know why is ask this.
I’m hoping they replace the DMR and BR so I can stop listening to all the -Yoinking!- about them both.
New assault rifle would be nice, but not plasma. UNSC isn’t that advanced.

This might come off as me being a -Yoink- but i hope you don’t take it that way but the UNSC has the tech and we could trade with the Elites for an even better understanding. We have laser tech which is better than plasma grade weapons. The UNSC has great tech its just it isn’t military based. Medical tech is great along with other civilian grade things its just that we haven’t had a war in a long time so the UNSC never thought of enhancing them.
But doing the plasma mod would be great but hardligt would be out of our league. Plasma is in the maybe zone.
No, I believe the UNSC could make a plasma weapon.
Just not in an assault rifle form.
The Spartan Laser for instance is massive and primitive compared to covenant weaponry.

The Spartan Laser is actually quite an advanced weapon, even compared to Covenant technology. While it is somewhat large and cumbersome, it has far more destructive power than any of the smaller Covenant arms. I mean, compare what the Spartan Laser can destroy in a single shot to, say, a Plasma Rifle.

In the books Covenant Plasma is terrifyingly powerful, ripping through armor and even walls in seconds, so it is still pretty primitive.

true in the books the plasma weapons are badass and so are the human weapons compared to the games. But the laser is better tech than plasma but it is more primitive on how it is fired so it is like cave men having steel swords but not knowing how to wield them.
God, I hope not. Weapons don’t need to updated to new models every game.
I’d love to know why the MA5C was phased out so quickly, given that a) it was still be distributed in 2552 (meaning it saw action for around 5 years) and b) the UNSC was apparently fine with using the MA5B for at least 20 years.
It’s the same situation with MJOLNIR. The Mark IV remained in service for 26 years, without any remarkable change. Yet, in the space of 6 years, we’ve seen the introduction of 4 separate suits. The Mark V was active in 2551, the Mark VI in 2552, and the Mark VII in 2553, along with GEN2 being available sometime between 2553 and 2557.
Development seems to be happening much too quickly to be believed.

Technological evolution i would assume. Since the UNSC has gotten some forerunner tech at some point i’m sure, they would have been able to have some fast advances in technology.

True…i did find it weird how they did keep advancing so fast but now that you bring Reclaimers into the equation…it begins to make sense.

Better question is why isn’t it…if you have read First Strike when MC is aboard the repair ship the Sangheili at the bridge. His sword was literally cutting through MC’s armor like butter. If you watched Forward Unto Dawn it showed Plasma weapons in real life and that Colonel was just destroyed by a needle samething with the red haired guy. Just zap and over. In alot of books when there are fleet engagements it is basically our hulls just trying to last against the intense heat blistering through our ships.

> Yes, an entire ship. Ships carry larger weapons with more power. I’m asking when a plasma rifle ripped through a wall, which I can only presume means 12 inch concrete.
Okay since those things aren’t good enough answers for you…i’m sure your read the flood when the Covenant bordered the Autumn. The Elites were blowing through the doors with their rifles.
I think that if it were called the MA5E, it might get a new nickname
MA5E looks like mase. Which could be either pronounced as “maze” or “mace”
That would be pretty cool.
I think it should be somewhere between the MA5K and MA5D. Shorter barrel than the D but longer than the K. Same magazine capacity as the D. Slightly better accuracy than the C. Similar appearance to the D (i prefer the more detailed look)
As others have said, the SPlaser is actually rather advanced and powerful. The UNSC has the ability to make plasma weaponry, and indeed “First Strike” makes it clear that the UNSC actually have a better understanding of the fundamental principals behind the mechanics of a plasma weapon than the Covenant themselves. They’ve merely been lacking in the materials necessary to make them.
Well, guess what, it’s been five+ years, it’s time for the UNSC to actually start to look like they’re from five centuries in the future. At the very least, a mass driver assault rifle needs to be issued.

no no no no on not to sound mean but remember mass weapons don’t work on Covenant Shields. Their shields take damage only from large amounts of mass and heat. Keep the Mass Drivers aboard the ships because they have the size but rifles. They would be like the Rail Gun and require a brick sized round to kill a hostile. If the rounds are like they are in Massive effect same and fast their sheilds will literally just bounce the off. They might have heat but no mass so it would be like trowing pebbles at them, now Guess Rifles would be a good sub but that is only for shielded foes. (talking about the Mass Drivers) Not all of our foes in Halo have sheilds and they already have been focusing alot on Rail and Guess which are better than Mass Drives until you get to the Scale of Star ships. Than well,…IDK!

Evidence?

You do understand what kinetic energy is… correct? 1/2MxV^2? Right. And that kinetic energy damages Covenant shielding? (In fact, in theory, pound for pound, a kinetic weapon would be even more dangerous, Conservation of Momentum being what it is).
I’d keep the MA5D for this game, I’d assume it doesn’t take place that long after Halo 4 if it’s not Halo 5, as long as it’s not like Halo 2 where they get rid of the AR
