What will replace the energy sword, or be its rival?
Do you think it will be some kind of forerunner melee weapon or a human revers-engineered weapon?

I was wondering if we would see that gun in Halo 4 earlier today. It would be interesting if when you pressed RT it fired a shot, but if you pressed B/RB then it would do a sword slash.
I hope there’ll be some sort of Forerunner sword.

Sounds like a pretty cool power weapon, actually! Maybe if it only EMP’s when it fires, so it’s a CQC weapon or a helping hand for teammates in combat.

Well, I personally believe that the Covenant will be returning, as it’s been heavily hinted at. I don’t think anything will be replacing it, but it might have a rival.
How about a plasma bayonet? When meleeing this would pop out to strike the enemy. Or it could be a permanent attachment. If not to all weapons, then to Forerunner weapons.
I do like that sword the OP posted a link of. It an in-between to a lightsaber and covenant energy sword. Hmm, a plasma Katana?
Nothing. Covenant have been confirmed, the novels have all pointed toward Elite involvement, and the Energy Sword is their signature weapon. It will be in Halo 4.
Hopefully with a Hard Light Blade.
