What will make or break this Halo for you?

That’s of little concern to me. The same could be said of the Didact and yet something tells me he’d wouldn’t be accepted with open arms by the galactic community should his mind ever be cleansed. Being compromised isn’t a get out of consequences free card.

I’m simply not budging on this. Chief and Cortana revert to the status quo with no consequences, I’m out. I know thats not much of a threat, but I couldn’t take the story seriously anymore. Now, if the Weapon has some of Cortana’s memories, but is able to separate those as separate and distinct, then all is well. It’d be like your Vision and Ultron example. However, if it ends up with Cortana just subverting and overriding their Weapon, I’d be out.

The Arbiter and the Elites killed far more innocent humans than Cortana. Yet that hasn’t stopped him being Chiefs friend and an ally.

The Arbiter is also the head of state and the only real ally humanity has. That’s a very delicate political situation and we obviously know not everyone is happy about it. Arbiter considering Chief an ally and friend didn’t stop ONI from trying to undermine his regime. Cortana’s deception hits far closer to home and her conscripting of AIs outright crippled the UNSC and UEG. Letting a know agent who had just gripped your neck not long ago walk free is foolish. They may not be able to touch the Arbiter, but Cortana is easily a more manageable problem once she’s free from the Domain.

If the Warden Eternal is a boss 'Imma snap the game disk in two!

It’s fairly muted criticism when you consider the Arbiters body count and that most of those were innocent people. That were being killed because they hated humans and they believed it pleased the Gods that they die. Bucke calls the Swords of Sanghelios his “brothers” in one mission.

Compare that to Cortana where you have an AI singularity that wants to protect organic life and she’s not asking. The only reason the body count was that high was because, for some reason, every Guardian had a city built over it and they went out their way to make EMP indiscriminate. Almost as if the Rampant isn’t fully conscious of its actions and accidentally killing people trying to do good. Still a drop in the ocean compared to the just the Arbiters fleet glassing Reach.

We can blame the rampancy. We can blame the logic plague. We can do everything to absolve her of any responsibility. Thing is, it wouldn’t be logical to immediately put her back into service as if nothing happened. At the very least, Cortana could be put in stasis like Iona until it can be verified she isn’t a threat. The Arbiter has a whole system and army and fleet behind him, even if the UNSC wished to pursue justice it wouldn’t be worth. Cortana has no such protection. If he was delusional, maybe she’d have the Chief, but he’d be a fool to just go about things business as usual.

Looks like you took me seriously lol. I’m totally with you there. And by “becoming” I was referring to obtaining her memories.

Literally? Nothing. I haven’t hated a single Halo game, and very few products.

Okay, so nothing isn’t true. If Karen Traviss was the Lead Writer, and as a result several characters pulled a 180* and Halsey ended up being the Superest of Super Villains but also still somehow the Weepiest of Wretches, I would hate it.

One small thing I am so happy is returning is classic scopes for precision weapons (as opposed to SmartScope from Halo 5.)

Unfortunately I can’t link to the old post as the previous forums haven’t migrated over, but I spoke about this quite a bit and I’m very happy 343i decided to revert some weapons’ Zooms back to their classic versions.

Were this not the case I know I’d have a harder time settling in to this new Halo.

I’m excited for the multiplayer, but I’m concerned the movement maybe too slow. It felt pretty good during the flight, but it felt like it was just a bit underwhelming.

Buff Sprint speed just a little. Make sliding feel a little less rigid and locked in and I’d be very happy. Seems like a lot of people don’t really agree with me on these forums though. I’m curious what the general PC population will think once the game launches though.

Should be fun to play once in a while at least if it does end up feeling too slow for me.

If I don’t laugh like I did in the flights, that would be a break it moment.
Where it didn’t matter if I was on the business of something stupid, it was still funny.

Halo is very serious, except for when it’s not

@RonninNinjaX Yeah, I can agree that it should be somewhat on track with what Halo 5 left off on.

Halo Infinite deciding on Battle Royale and then it becomes the main focus of the multiplayer because it’s all everyone cares about.

Probably if I feel like I did after Halo 5 once I beat Infinites campaign.

And if its pathetically short.

Make: If it has a hearty story mode and the semi open world has a diverse lineup of side quests.

Break: If the story mode is the usual 6 hour long campaign and like 90% of the side quests are just “capture this base”.

In other words, I really just want it to be worth the full $60 price tag.

I think what would kill it for me is if the story is lackluster which it doesn’t seem to be on the surface. Just the same, the game having an amazing story would absolutely make it for me.

What would put it at the top of the Halo list? If it had forge/coop at launch. Infinite will have less content than Halo 3/Reach did at launch and those games took far less time to develop.

What would break the game for me? Hmmm. I already know how good the MP is (based off of flight) so really if the story/campaign is trash that’ll massively hurt it in my eyes.

For me there needs to be a cohesive ever expanding story.

Also, just as important; Having exploration on a living breathing word be rewarded. Mainly environmental story telling.

As someone who has never really cared for the multi-player side of things all that matters to me is that the campaign has a good story and is fun to explore
