Just a fun little post. Haven’t been hyped like this for a product since halo 4.
What would you love to see in the game that will stick this halo up there at the top, or what are the things that will completely ruin this experience?
Or just any little nitpicks lol. Anything you’d like to get of your chest being a month away from release.
Mine would be if game doesn’t have many biomes it could potentially cause this open world,-ish? game to become visually repetitive. But if it does i see this being a truly beautiful experience.
Plus this armour core system worries me. Seems our mix and matching is dampened cos of it.
What would you love to see in the H infinite for me : Cortana redemption, blue team, flood and a good forerunner history
What are the things that will completely ruin H infinite for me : just fighting Banished, the prensence of Lock or Osiris, and the absence of Cortana and the created
I’m simply going into Infinite with an open mind and looking forward to landing on Zeta Halo, hopefully during the years between H5 and Infinite, Locke and Osiris have been taken out.
It would have to be straight up unplayable to break the game for me. I just want to get back to playing Halo again.
I would be annoyed if they clumsily try to retcon Halo 5 and set everything back to status quo for the UNSC. Even if every Guardian fell from the sky, there would still be massive consequences from most of the known galaxy being occupied by them for so long. How could they ever trust AI. Why doesn’t every Marine freak out whenever the Weapon shows up. How does the UNSC even have a fleet? If it was me, I’d stay the course and make it work; which if you are introducing new factions would not be too difficult. Halo Wars 2 was a post Halo 5 story for example. But it is what it is.
I’d be annoyed if they set it up so that Cortana was cured of rampancy before the game starts and this is revealed in a flashback. At that point you’re clearly skipping a game and it wouldn’t have the same impact as Chief saving Cortana as part of main game as was set up in Halo 4.
But yeah, that’s more eye rolling than breaking the game.
I just hope it’s a complete story, no matter where they go with it. Considering they’re aiming for this to be a 10-year game and we’ll inevitably get expansions, it would be so easy to just leave it all open ended when credits roll on the launch campaign. When I beat it for the first time, I hope it feels like we really accomplished something. The worst thing for me would be if it just felt like one big set up for the next chapter.
Completely agree. I wouldn’t want the story to be finished behind a paid dlc especially. I see this 10 year promise to hopefully pump out more story and other fresh content quicker than ever before. The potential is actually infinite… I’ll let myself out.
to be fair h5 gameplay was fine, so were the lvls, it was just the story and direction change from the pre build up stuff.
As long as infinite has a solid story about chief like we have been told, and the gameplay as as good as the mp then i think we’re have a great game.
So the thing that will break this game will be a bad story, and mis direction with what this game is actually about.
I think that for me this game will be made or broken by two things: the biomes/environments, and the writing. If the biomes are literally just sprawling copies of what we’ve already seen, then this game will feel like far cry 4. Interesting and fun to be sure, but I never really actually finished that game since it was so repetitive.
The writing will need to be better than what I’ve seen in the trailers. I want something on par with Halo 3 at least, or even better, as well written as Reach. With the open world I’m having a hard time imagining that I will be as immersed in the world as I was with Reach.
The Weapon should be their own character, end of discussion. Sorry, but there is no way they could revert back to the status quo after what Cortana did. The UNSC would never let her pair with Chief and Chief shouldn’t trust her so quickly after what she did to him and Blue Team and the galaxy. It’s not about being hard to please, it’s about treating Halo 4’s end with some respect. If 343 wants to use quick snapshot redemptions like a bad comic book, fine, but that ain’t the Halo I’ll support.
If the memories of Cortana merge with another AI, that’s still The Weapon, just with another AIs memories. It’s like saying Vision has a bit of Ultron in him. Should she be held responsible for Cortana actions for having been made?
Plus, if Cortana was rampant or had the Logic Plague then she probably wouldn’t have been really aware of what she was doing.
Also, you’re assuming the Chief would tell the UNSC that the Weapon is Cortana. They could be under the impression the weapon is just another AI of the same make.
They’ve got bigger problems. Species that actually want to destroy humanity. Like the Banished fleet should just be plasma bombing human worlds and there’s very little getting in the way of that.
The story. There is one thing in the story that worries me above all else.
To me it’s more about mending what Halo 5 already broke. Cortana needs redemption. Chief and Cortana are the characters who define the mainline series.
The least cheap excuse i can think of is, that evil Cortana is just one of the rampant personality spikes from Halo 4 and the rest of her is maybe trapped in the domain or something like that.
I could possibly maybe accept some sort of fusion between the weapon and Cortana. Every potential path ofc depends on if they can pull it off, which is gonna be hard.
But Cortana is key to Halo. Don’t bring her back just to kill her off again after ruining the character.
