What will happen when chief exits the pelican?

In the Cutscene shown in 2019 E3 it ends with Chief running out of the Pelican.I would like to hear what you guys think will happen next in the game and to see if anyone guessed correctlyšŸ˜€
I think he will jump outside and then the scenery will change to the past like the scene we saw a bit in various trailers,Chief making little jump and shoot while observing the explosions underneath him.I think this is on Reach and we will get like a tutorial gameplay before continuing back to the present time.

I feel like this is super unlikely. It sounds like that trailer was the opening cinematic of the game. I really doubt they would do the flashback type move at all, and especially not so early in the game. It’s too bad though, I could see this game as being a great opportunity to use flashbacks a la ODST to explain what happened in the battle on Zeta Halo.

What do you think will happen as Chief exits the Pelican?

He jumps out but realizes he was too high up

he falls and crushes a grunt as well as cracks his visor… again

Lol that’s the spirit!C’mon guys join in and Mods too!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I imagine it launches the first mission of the game: A zero-G space segment, where you travel between several banished ships you can board in any order and must slay all enemies within.

I don’t know if that would be a good first mission, but the concept is fun, nonetheless.

Walking around then probably a tutorial with grunts just over there for him to shoot because its the tutorial, then when you get to other abilities, a thing pops up showing you how to do it

I think it will likely either be altered, so that the opening cinematic doesn’t end that way, or it might be that you fight in zero G against the banished (as someone else here mentioned,) or it could be a forerunner/cortana type thing and a big cutscene? It doesn’t really make sense for chief to just open the back of the pelican and jump out to fight unless he knows what is going on.

Yeah it could be a epic Cutscene like in H2 "Giving the Covenant back their bomb"or maybe first mission in a Ship like in CE.

He’ll go splat, end of story.
Credits roll.

Why is this even being discussed?

Obviously a few seconds of quiet free-fall, followed by a ā€œGAHHHHHHHHH!ā€ with Chief letting go of his guns and grenades and air-swimming (waving his arms and legs) :stuck_out_tongue:

I honestly don’t think we will see the trailer in its entirety in the game.
Look at the Teaser Trailers for Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and ODST. All of the ā€œeventsā€ in these trailer actually took place in the games themselves, though with different context and/or edits.
I think its highly possible that the end of the trailer was edited, or will end differently in the final version of the game. Also, if I’m not mistaken, they said this was the opening cinematic before they decided to delay the game, and with Joe Staten coming onboard, its quite likely that the opening of the game could have been rewritten anyway.

Also, the last time 343 dropped a trailer and said it was the opening cinematic of the game, was with Halo 5. And if you want to be technical, the opening cinematic was actually Halsey in her lab with Cortana, so it wasn’t 100% truthful, haha.

**^**This guy knows what’s up.

If it’s the opening cinematic, then I want a flashback or switch to a different timestamp. Like you know, you get to play the mission which caused the destruction or the mission way ahead in the game ,that might reveal the villain or a plot twist. I stand with the former

I think we can’t take it too far - a lot of people saw the original announce trailer for Halo 4 as being a similar type thing and, although it did have elements from Dawn’s level and cutscenes it was more a concept piece. I see that trailer in much the same way. It feels too cinematic to be the opening cutscene necessarily to me so I wonder if it was only and specifically created for that trailer.

Given we know that there are levels before Chief and the Pilot land on Zeta Halo, my assumption would be that these would be based around a ship the debris field - perhaps a nod to Pillar of Autumn/Cairo Station/Dawn/even Argent Moon as opening levels, or if an enemy ship potentially referencing Truth and Reconciliation

How do you know there are levels before that Cutscene? They said this is the beginning of the game basically.

You forgot to mention the monitor of Zeta checking Chief out, mockingly shouting ā€œGAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHā€ as they plunge down.

He walks out the Pelican and outgunned by 100 Legendary Jackal Snipers

Don’t what Zeta’s Monitor would be like in the game, but I’m pretty sure there will be a random Elite walking by ā€œWAH HAHAHAHā€ then pew pew some plasma into Chief’s fallen body.

And after that, the Elite will use his body as a fractured and squishy benchwarmer, while texting a snapchat image about it to the UNSC high command

A jackel snipes him. credits roll
