With so many big AAA titles coming out in November such as COD Blops3, Battlefront and Fallout 4 how well do you think h5 will keep its player base through November?
Personally I think no matter how good H5 ends up being, I think it will just be overshadowed by all the other big games coming out, especially Fallout 4 and Battlefront. My prediction is going to by between the 50-100k range by the beginning of December which is quite a shame, but I just can’t see H5 holding out too well with how the average mainstream casual gamers have such little attention spans and will probably be done with H5 in a week or two.
I think the populations for all these games are going to fluctuate, people are gonna buy them all and want to play them all. It’ll depend on what people feel like playing on a certain time or day.
Like when I can’t decide if I want to play Halo, Madden or get onto my PC and listen to some Zeppelin haha
Looking past the fact that Halo, an Xbox exclusive, has never had to compete for sales, I’ll never understand the thought process of there only being a single group of gamers moving from game to game. It’s not 2007 anymore ― there’s more to play than just Halo 3. CoD fans will play CoD; Battlefront/ Battlefield fans will play Battlefront; Halo fans will play Halo. I’m sorry to burst everyones’ fantasy bubble, but 343 isn’t killing Halo. Halo sells, and if Halo 5 is as good as I think it is, people will play it and keep playing it.
A 4 billion dollar franchise shouldn’t be the subject of conjecture in regards to it “doing well”. So I’m sorry, but I’m calling BS on this edited post. You’ve essentially contrived clickbait.
Halo 5, won’t surivive ;). No seriously, it probably won’t. There’s a reason why it’s releasing in October lol. I really don’t think it will keep a high population.
The game strayed away from classic halo even more
Armour abilities like thruster are permanent.
Sprint
Poor maps ( from what I seen from the beta)
Titanfall Warzone gametype ( Will die after hype)
ADS
No custimization
-No split-screen
MCC fail, killed trust in 343
no elites ( this one is stupid lol.)
No really, I can’t wait for halo 5. But after all of the bad news recently, and the weak E3 showcase. I’m scared. Have you seen the facebook comments for Halos page lol. All people do is complain
Do not purposely bypass the profanity filter.
It will most definitely have a low population, 343 didn’t make anything different they just re patterned different formulas to make a multiplayer game, when you think about it, its almost like that one essay you did back in high school where you searched about 6 different websites copied and pasted bits from each to avoid plagiarism and score top marks. Where Halo 5 may be the big hype now, it wont take people to realize that game-play is too similar to other FPS titles and will turn stale fast. Soon as November enters the picture 50% of Halos population which is filled with COD jocks will move to BO3 the day of launch after B*tching about it for months while others such as myself and others will move onto Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront. Point is from all that I’ve seen from Halo 5, its a forgettable title
It’ll be in the 200k area. The things that killed halo 4 are gone, and tjis halo is going to its roots while keeping a more lean modern profile. Plus, warzone looks to bring in those halo players who have been yearning for a gametype bigger than BTB ever since 2004.
If you listen to the drama queens on this forum and the silly predictions of doom and gloom we get from people over minor things and ignoring what we are getting in return then after November there will be around 10 people playing Halo 5 in total lol.

So, people can’t play Halo and Call of Duty/Battlefront/Fallout? Why do so many in this forum think its only possible to own one game at a time?? Lmao
The issue is not how many people will play. The issue is how long they will play. Personally, i always found that I liked Halo so much because, in a way, it is the Star Wars of video games. And this year, there is a new Star Wars game coming out. Recently, Ive been wanting to play MCC for a while now, but Arkham Knight has my attention. But ill always return to Halo. It just takes longer than it did in 07

Actually, halo 3 had some fierce competition, it’s just that halo 3 was such a good game players kept coming back. A great game will keep a healthy population regardless of the competition.
Population wise, I can’t really say where halo 5 will be. It will certainly do better than halo 4 though.

Which competition would you be speaking of? And how many of them had the same amount of hype that Halo 3 had following Halo 2s success?

negative news are always more attention-grabbing. I will keep the Halo hype alive. ;D

I really don’t care about population. Population does not make a game.
I play more than just Halo and I love it all. I still play Titanfall from time to time and that game has a low population (ER MAH GERD Titanfall isn’t in Top #10 Xbox Live charts! That game failed despite selling millions of copies and getting a sequel! #titanfallisdead#riptitanfall!!!1!2!) But its still fun to play.
So this December I’ll be playing Halo 5, Rainbow Six Siege, Star Wars Battlefront, Tomb Raider, CoD and more!
Lastly, I’ve been playing Halo MCC online, easily finding matches and having a great time! Population does not matter.

The people who feel like they need to complain make up the majority of the “community’s voice” on the internet, unfortunately. There are many more people in support of 343 than are against them, I’m willing to bet money on that. Halo isn’t dead or dying, Halo 5 will be good and it’ll retain a good population so that anyone who wants to play can and will enjoy themselves while doing it.

Definitely. I will play Halo when it comes out, but once Fallout 4 arrives on November 10, I’m gone.
Halo always has been the game I played when I didn’t have any new games to play. I’ll always come back to it eventually. I have the same with Gears of War. I play it when it releases and up until a new game on my wishlist comes out. Then I play and complete that game and if by then no other games have been released I come back to Halo to play matchmaking or to replay campaign.
