What will co op campaign be like?(my thought)

My brother and I have brain stormed multiple ideas as to who the the other (3) player(s) will be when playing with w/ more than one’s self in Halo 4.

At first, we both sketched out an idea, showing Master Chief get out of his cryo pod, and then the camera shows a second Master Chief come out of his own. We both discussed how this (or other 3) Chief would not say anything, only make gestures like the Rookie from Oddist. Throughout the game, the other chief(s) would stand in the background, covering the area w/ his/their own rifle(s), while the real Chief would continue w/ his script.

Now that we have seen Palmer, however, our ideas have been altered. We think now that the second player will alternate between a Chief clone, and then Palmer in appropriate missions. Our third, but deemed least likely scenario is that the other players would really just be random SPARTAN IVs.

What are your ideas? Please, do share!

Yeah, it’s just Chief clones, Frankie confirmed at Eurogamer after Campaign Demo

But I would like to add that it would be pretty freakin’ cool if 2nd,3rd, and 4th Players were all their own Spartans

Oh, bummer. I knew I might have missed something.

I thought he said we play as random Spartan IV’s?

It’s been confirmed numerous times the other co-op players will be Chief clones.

Frankie said mainly for the reason to avoid cannon issues, it’s just easier to have clones.

Nope. he said it was because no-one would make sense canon-wise that they were going with Chief clones. I remember because he also said that there wouldn’t be any more arguing over who gets to play as MC.

It’s co-op. I’ll brush it off that its not canon. Four master chiefs isn’t any better. Clones definitely do not address the canon issue. An issue that doesn’t even exist.

I mean look at Halo 3. As far as I’m concerned those Halo co-op characters (excluding Arbiter) are non-existent.

This is a bogus excuse for a stupid choice.

Chief is alone, aside from Cortana during the first few missions of Halo 4. It is not until the 3rd of 4th mission we encounter UNSC forces. If we were to play separate Spartan IV’s, assisting Chief during the portion of the Campaign it wouldn’t make sense and break cannon.

Yes, playing 4 Masterchief is still relatively stupid, theres only one MC, but there really isnt any other way of doing it. 343i want co-op players to still be in the shoes of the primary character during their experience, not sitting on the sideline.

If playing 4 player, everyone must be in the mindset of ‘i am the masterchief’ and your fellow partners are just their for the co-op experience.

Well, I suppose. Lets quit with the canon point though because that isn’t supporting you at all. Especially when your second point supports a lack of canon.

I just hope when Halo 5 comes around we have a set group of major spartan characters. That way everyone is a different character.
