Honestly, what do you think everyones excuse will be on launch day when things go bad? “Oooh it’s a new game launch, bugs are to be expected!” and “Ooooh no game comes out perfect at launch, look at MCC”. Meanwhile the apologist argument now is “I’D RaThEr HaVe iT dElAyEd tHan BuggY”, but the fact of the matter is it will still come out buggy, despite the delay, and then they will have a whole new round of excuses.
I really hope I am wrong. I hope I can eat these words. However, since the delays I have lost my confidence that we are getting an honest picture here. I am of course still getting the game, I still want 343 to be successful. But honestly standards feel lowered. You may get my money this one last time. But if you disappoint, you will never have my trust again. I will sadly take the love I have for Halo outback behind the shed and put it down.
I hope this next Tech Preview really changes my mind. I hope this campaign is a master piece. I hope I am a stupid worrisome person.
343i and Microsoft are gonna milk Halo until the final drop and this is what we get.
definitely holding off my purchase. My problem is we don’t even know if single player campaign can even be played offline or not. The tag live game doesn’t promote confidence and of course 343 refuse to say anything. Lower expectations and who knows Infinite may just be brilliant but given 343 is so quiet on information, you can’t help but think the worst
Just because a person is tolerant or shortcomings, does not make them an apologist.
I fully expect a -Yoink- show. Such is the way of modern game releases.
I also fully expect it to clear up shortly thereafter.
Everyone has their limits. Some are greater than others. It is all good at the end of the day.
I’m predicting that the Xbox One version of the game is going to run terribly and look poor. I was a big advocate of it being next gen only.
And then we’ll have people telling us its outdated hardware and we shouldn’t expect better to justify how bad the X1 port is…Despite so many people on here being in favour of the game being crossgen.
There’s no excuse for not being able to put out a polished product in 6 years.
I guess its a matter of perspective, personally I’m confident that everything that they haven’t talked about will be good because they have been open about things like co-op, splitscreen, forge, armour colours, graphics, and microtransactions. They have generally told us about the bad parts of the game, even said that some bugs will stick around to launch.
And the flighting was seriously the most fun I’ve had in a while, so I’m optimistic.
Regardless, its just a game, and a free-to-play one at that. As a game pass owner, this game comes to minimal investment for me so I suppose I’m less involved. If Infinite does turn out to be absolute dog crap then I’m not going to kick up a fuss. There are plenty of other games out there and frankly Halo has had its time.

I already did that after completing Halo 4 campaign the first time, then when halo 5 had no split screen I didn’t even bother. Halo was pretty much dead to me until the Infinite announcement trailer that pretty much got everyone fired up again. Half of the entire industry was suddenly interested in Halo again as soon as they saw that trailer. That should tell you all something. People want Halo HOW IT WAS.

Monetarization was always… I mean modernisation is totally important, that’s way ingame shop will be there at day one and no forge

The tech preview ran great on my XB1. I don’t doubt it will run okay performance wise on the XB1.

Sure they have been open and honest. However they have a longer record of screwing Halo up. Because they have everyone totally convinced this is a spiritual reboot, if they drop the ball again that will be the end of Halo games.
Yeah it is just a game. If it comes out bad I wont really come on here and complain. Like I said, I will just be done. Walk away from anything Halo that has the name 343 anywhere near it. However, if they exceed my expectations, and raise Halo from the grave then they will have a new devout fan.

A friend of mine who played via XB1 told me he really didn’t like how it ran, totally anecdotal I’ll admit but that shaped my view somewhat. Good to hear your experience was positive!
I’ll admit I don’t know the situation with XB1, they just haven’t shown much of the game on that platform so that’s more of a prediction of mine
The game is going to release with bugs…that part is inevitable…as is any release of any game or software…What you can probably expect on Day 1 with a game that is anticipated to draw large numbers such as Infinite is difficulty connecting to the dedicated servers which will probably plague us for at least a few days.
Day 1 Halo Infinite will be basic, newborn and still figuring out how to walk. It’s gonna have bugs and problems and crashes and glitches and missing modes. Such is the way with any new game release. Give it a couple months though and by Season 2 I’m certain it’ll be a monster of a game in a good way
Umm wanting the game to be delayed is not the same defending them. If the game wasn’t rushed and the game was complete then cool but nobody is ever going to expect any game to ever be bug free and neither does it mean we’re ok with what 343i have done by turning it into a live service game.

Yes. I think we are agreeing but I’m honestly not sure.
