I’m sure a lot of people would agree with me in one way or another about what I’m going to say. Bungie did a amazing job with the Forge in Halo reach, except me and many other people saw way too many flaws in it. The most aggravating was the one about the rotation-snap. If i would rotate a object twice using the 5 degree and 3 times using the 10 degree, and then just pass by the 90 degree accidentally, it would reset it back to zero. Another thing wrong with it was if i spent SEVERAL MINUTES adjusting an object not using rotation-snap to fit it almost perfectly, went to work on another object using a 90 degree, and came back to slightly adjust the free-handed one, just selecting it would reset it back to zero. I would also like to see a undo/redo button. There is nothing worse than accidentally pressing “delete all of these” and “yes” out of instinct on the object that makes up 40% of your map. Sure, you could go back to the file browser and start from the last time you saved, but that could have been after a lot of work was done. A simple undo-button could bring that back without any trouble, and if you change something, not as serious as the past example, and liked it better the way it was, a redo-button could set it back to the way it was. Another godsend 343 industries could use is a drag box. This could simply be a button under “Tools” and if you select it, it allows you to select anything between 2 objects to every object on the map. This could be useful because if your entire maps takes up only a small portion of forge world, and your running out of room or thought it would look better some where else, even a little bit, then you can easily select it and drag it to where you want, instead of doing each piece individually. It would also be very helpful if you could choose between an object having to be completely enveloped, half enveloped, or any less to be selected. I would also like to see only a money limit, not a object limit. I understand that too many objects makes it slow, but you shouldn’t limit the money AND amount of objects.
I also think you should make a large scale space map. This seems easy to accomplish because if you go “out” of Corvette, Anchor 9, or Condemned, you can tell that the space completely surrounds the map and the space physics stay the same. I would also like to see Pelicans, Phantoms, Covenant Dropships, and Longswords on Halo Anniversary’s forge, and whatever major vehicles appear in Halo 4’s campaign in forge as well. If you choose not to let us fly or control them in multiplayer, than that’s fine… i completely understand, but at least let us have some fun in forge. It would also be nice if we could walk around inside the phantoms and pelicans and let them hold max passengers. Wouldn’t it be nice if you walked up to a parked pelican, saw that it said " Hold RB to enter Pelican" and let you jump on, but you wouldn’t be forced to sit in the driver or first closest passengers seat. You could walk into the cockpit or enter the mounted machine gun and cover your team as they enter it too. And if you did choose to go to enter the pilots seat, you could choose between opening and closing the bombay door, allowing your team to shoot or be defended from the enemies fire. I think that would be AMAZING, and i’m sure i’m not the only one. It would be even better if you weren’t limited to an unarmed vehicle. It would be fantastic if you could mix and match the following on a Pelican: Nose gun, Missiles, Mounted Machine Gun, and vehicle. I would also like to request more realistic debris. I found it pretty hilarious how a formidable falcon or phantom would explode into a tiny piece of scrap metal with two other little shards falling with it, but The Tip of the Spear would have much much better falcon remains littering the floor. I would also like to see civilian vehicles in forge, but I don’t think that could be arranged in Halo Anniversary or Halo 4. I remember playing through Reach and seeing all these perfectly fine civilian vehicles that Bungie spent money on to design and create a being used 2-3 times total in the campaign. If you put it on a Miscellaneous category on Forge than people with all the stuff you wouldn’t have had in Forge but decided to do… then people would be much happier. Again, I’m okay with them not being used in multiplayer and I’m sure a lot of people wouldn’t like it if they were, but people could have a lot of fun goofing around with them in forge. A fixed and mounted Gause, Rocket and Machine gun could also be used because I’ve seen too many people horribly quarantining warthogs for their weapons. I said Machine Gun because I’d also like one that rotates 360 degrees, not just 180.
I actually also have 2 things Id like to ask out of 343 Industries for Multiplayer. One is to have a Race gametype that takes User/Company created Maps and just races Warthogs/Mongooses/(whatever else you create) on them. Racing a unaffected map over and over and over gets boring instantly, but if you get to race it over twists and turns, plummets and grav-lifts, trip mines and kill balls, then you can never get tired of it. Maybe every week you could showcase a new map with fan-favorites, but they must have a forged racetrack. The second thing is playing as the Flood during infection. It would be a nice change from having the infected run around with energy swords, and if you gout infected, you’d be able TO PLAY AS A FLOOD!!! Im not talking about the miniature flood that travel in groups or the massive hulks that sway from side to side, but the human, elites, and brutes, whose dead bodies have been converted. That would really thrill people. I actually discussed some of these ideas with people that WORSHIP Halo, and they agree with these ideas. Please don’t shrug this off as something not important and please actually consider it. I know that all this is a lot to ask and that you don’t have to do anything, but this is just one of many opinions that want a more “customized” game and will love it all the more if at least some of what they ask for is fulfilled. I hope that any other Halo-Lover could tell me how to message 343 Industries more directly (preferably through email) so that i could increase the chances that this will be heard.
Out of curiousity, who’s we? ,’
Do you think Bungie is making Halo 4?
and halo anniversary uses reachs MP, FF and forge
Bungie’s 10 year contract with Microsoft expired, so they left and formed an independant company to begin working on a new project. 343i is a “branch” of Bungie, and is now made up with some Bungie members who wanted to continue the Halo story. 343i is now the developers for Halo. And from what we’ve seen so far, I think Halo is in good hands. We won’t know Bungie’s project for a while… so from now on, remember to use 343 instead of Bungie.
Paragraphs are the most fundamental way to increase readability of a document, through seperating ideas and giving the reader breathing room between those ideas.
Remember - White space is inviting.
OT: Bungie are not involved with Halo:CE Anniversary, Halo 4, or any future Halo installment. The franchise under the direction of 343 Industries. One would assume you’d have an understanding of this, as you are, indeed, posting on 343i’s forums, and not Bungie’s.

thanks
> The most aggravating was the one about the rotation-snap…
Then be more careful. Plenty of people use that feature without any problems (besides one irritating glitch, but that’s not what you’re describing).
> Another thing wrong with it was if i spent SEVERAL MINUTES adjusting an object not using rotation-snap to fit it almost perfectly, went to work on another object using a 90 degree, and came back to slightly adjust the free-handed one, just selecting it would reset it back to zero.
Then be more careful. Plenty of people get by with mo problem here.
> I would also like to see a undo/redo button.
Unnecessary and too difficult to implement. Be more careful.
> There is nothing worse than accidentally pressing “delete all of these”…
Then be more careful.
> Sure, you could go back to the file browser and start from the last time you saved, but that could have been after a lot of work was done.
Save more often. You should be doing that anyway in case you get a power surge or other unexpected problem.
> A simple undo-button could bring that back without any trouble…
It’d be too difficult to implement, and “undo” works in terms of steps. What’s a step? Moving an object a meter? A foot? An inch?
> Another godsend 343 industries could use is a drag box…to select anything between 2 objects to every object on the map.
That’d be nice, but I doubt it could work the same way a mouse would. That’d be awkward. Maybe selecting each object individually, but not having the move when you do?
> It would also be very helpful if you could choose between an object having to be completely enveloped, half enveloped, or any less to be selected.
What?
> I would also like to see only a money limit, not a object limit.
You’ll have to wait until someone invents a computer with infinite resources that fits inside of an Xbox 360. That’s literally the requirement for limitless anything in a video game, and nobody currently alive today will live to see it happen.
> I understand that too many objects makes it slow, but you shouldn’t limit the money AND amount of objects.
It’s not just frame rate lag. Go research the term “discoing”. You’ll be surprised at how unstable Reach really is.
> I also think you should make a large scale space map. This seems easy to accomplish…
We’d have to waste pieces building ground. Total object max is around 640 (which is a lot less than it sounds!) and it’s not going to change, so bad idea.
> I would also like to see Pelicans, Phantoms, Covenant Dropships, and Longswords on Halo Anniversary’s forge, and whatever major vehicles appear in Halo 4’s campaign in forge as well.
What would be the point? And why would they spoil Halo 4 information by putting it in Halo Annie?
> Wouldn’t it be nice if you walked up to a parked pelican, saw that it said " Hold RB to enter Pelican" and let you jump on…You could walk into the cockpit or enter the mounted machine gun and cover your team as they enter it too.
“Cover your team” so that they can step into a flying Killtrocity?
> It would be fantastic if you could mix and match the following on a Pelican: Nose gun, Missiles, Mounted Machine Gun, and vehicle.
Mixing and matching vehicle parts has been proven to be possible by… illegitimate, shall we say… users… So theoretically, 343 actually could implement this in a future map. It’d be interesting to see it done.

SECOND PART OF THE REPLY
> I would also like to request more realistic debris. I found it pretty hilarious how a formidable falcon or phantom would explode into a tiny piece of scrap metal with two other little shards falling with it,
Then go play Red Faction: Guerrilla or Armageddon. Reach’s engine isn’t designed for realistic debris. (In fact, more debris could mean more objects contributing to discoing, which would be really, really bad. I still need to stop being lazy and research this.)
> but The Tip of the Spear would have much much better falcon remains littering the floor.
I take it you’re referring to the one-off scripted crashed Falcon that was probably pre-placed anyway, and hence technically isn’t actual “debris” in the game-engine sense?
> I would also like to see civilian vehicles in forge, but I don’t think that could be arranged in Halo Anniversary or Halo 4.
It could, if they’re added to the maps. Code them as a skinned Mongoose in terms of the gametypes. :\
> A fixed and mounted Gause, Rocket and Machine gun could also be used because I’ve seen too many people horribly quarantining warthogs for their weapons.
If they’re “horribly” quarantined, it’s because the Forger is inept. You can lock down a turret-Hog just fine using Forge World’s palettes.
> I said Machine Gun because I’d also like one that rotates 360 degrees, not just 180.
Then place two or use a Shade.
> One is to have a Race gametype that takes User/Company created Maps and just races Warthogs/Mongooses/(whatever else you create) on them.
This already exists.
> Racing a unaffected map over and over and over gets boring instantly, but if you get to race it over twists and turns, plummets and grav-lifts, trip mines and kill balls, then you can never get tired of it.
These already exist. They are called “racetracks”. People create them, and you can download them.
> Maybe every week you could showcase a new map with fan-favorites, but they must have a forged racetrack.
Requiring every map to be Race-compatible is absolutely unreasonable. It’s a waste of Forge budget and object counts and ratchets maps closer to the global object max.
> The second thing is playing as the Flood during infection. It would be a nice change from having the infected run around with energy swords, and if you gout infected, you’d be able TO PLAY AS A FLOOD!!!
At minimum, this would require a massive Title Update. It probably won’t happen. Maybe in Halo 4.
> Im not talking about the miniature flood that travel in groups or the massive hulks that sway from side to side
We figured that was the case.
> I actually discussed some of these ideas with people that WORSHIP Halo, and they agree with these ideas.
Did you discuss them all in one big batch, like this? I ask because the more there is to discuss, the less you can think about each individual idea and evaluate its plausibility.
> I know that all this is a lot to ask and that you don’t have to do anything, but this is just one of many opinions that want a more “customized” game and will love it all the more if at least some of what they ask for is fulfilled.
This statement automatically makes you one of the more intelligent users in this section of the forum, even despite your having declined to use the Enter/Return key.

You can’t message them more directly than this. I’m told that actual 343 employees check these boards every so often, so don’t worry – they’ve seen this post. And the replies.
Thanks for taking the time to answer his post, that’s the kind of Community Members i like, if this were RT or the Gammas, i would have clicked the “Thank” button, heh.
