What weapons do you want in infinite? And how will they fit the sandbox?

Simple topic, what weapons would you love to have in infinite from previous games? Please try to limit it to only a few weapons there is no point bullet pointing half the weapons in the game.

Also a note from leaks we know the following weapons are comming: H5 pump shotgun, fuelrod gun, SAW, Carbine, some sort of banished LMG, some sort of double barrel banished shotgun.


SMG

The SMG would be a good T1 pistol class weapon designed more for spray and pray then actual kills, its function would be a PvE mode gun like firefight or campaign though it would have other features. Coming in two forms suppressed and default the SMG has a 1.6x zoom and a fixed cone of fire when fired from zoom.


Some sort of banished flamethrower

this would be a t2 weapon that works well at medium to close range using infusion jell as an incendiary fuel this thing spews a constant stream of fire. this would be an upgrade to the ravager in a way where the ravager fires bursts of flaming fuel this fires a constant stream, the down side is it doesn’t have an area denial ability instead replacing that with the ability to swap between a red flame that does more damage to shields and a green flame that burns through armor (vehicle damage).


Ma5B /w GL

Ok this one is a bit out there as it is a t2 version of the t1 Ma40 being a older generation AR it is abit out of date especially do to the fact it lacks the modern smart scope integration that said to make up for this the weapon is reliable every spartan knows how to field strip this thing and even more have custom mods to theirs.

this loot room weapon has a quad stack 60 round mag instead of the standard 32 round mag, as well as replacing the in built flashlight with a 40mm grenade launcher. do to it being an older model weapon there is no smart link system as such you can’t zoom with it. but instead you can use that button to swap between GL and rifle mode.

H3 ODST SMG, HCE AR, Shotgun, magnum, plasmapistol & plasmarifle, Halo Reach Needlerrifle, concussion rifle, focus rifle, fuelrod cannon, target locator & DMR, H3 spiker & mauler, H2 beam rifle & bruteshot, H4 sticky detonator, beam rifle & Promethean weapons.

Someone didn’t read the topic, a bullet point list like that doesn’t help in anyway that is just listing guns for no reason other then to do so.

Ok, I’ll give a reason for some of my listed choces.
Promethean weapons from H4 because:
They had a very unique reloading animation I thought made Halo more cool. I’ve always felt the lack of forerunner/promethean weapons through the years.
When I first tried the sentinel beam in H3 I was so fascinated in the weapon design and wished for more weapons like that. Then we got it in H4 and H5, and boom. Gone in Infinite. So I think they should return, with some tweaks and redesigns. Hopefully with some purple ish light like we have in the current forerunner weapons.

HCE AR, shotgun, magnum, plasmapistol and plasmarifle because:
These weapons were badass, strong and lots of ammo. Made you feel like a supersoldier in space. The covenant weapon design was peak with their glossy, bright and shiny purple colors. So, I really think these would be a good addition to Infinite. If these weapons were to return, I would see the same design back with just more details on it. I would also see the covenant weapons being re-engineered by the brutes to be a hybrid weapon of plasma and bolt shots. So you can switch between the two different types of ammo. In this way, making the opd covenant weapon design return, would actually make them more useful in Infinite. As they removed plasma weapons to not stun vehicles. I also think they should be power weapons, as they would maybe ruin the gameplay of Infinite if they were normal weapons.

Needlerrifle, target Locator, sticky detonator, bruteshot, SMG because:
These weapons are awesome to use in Halo.

Spartan Laser
Do we need it considering the Skewer exists? Well maybe not if you have a limit of 1 weapon per role but there’s no such thing and there’s nothing wrong with the Skewer being locked to some maps and the Laser to other to mix stuff up a bit.

Not that anti-vehicle weapons are in high demand because vehicles are really weak but hey, nothing wrong with wanting to laser everything in sight at every chance.

Heavier duty shotgun that spawns rarer then the bull dog, slower rate of fire, but hits harder. Possibly to one shot at close ranges.

Full Rod Cannon’s return, Banished units equivalent to the rocket launcher

Falcon - Even if just used for Coop Campaign when Halo Infinite gets it, so that we’d have a airborn transport vehicle that can be used by multiple players.

Halo CE Magnum

Firstly, it’s an iconic gun in gaming. Bringing it back just seems like the reasonable thing to do given that Halo Infinite is here for atleast 10 years. On a gameplay standpoint, I think it would be a really good starting weapon for 2v2s. 2v2s already give you more room to solo carry, and this gun’s low ttk and it being difficult to use just gives you even more room to carry games and show off your skill. Although, I do think in a normal game with BR starts the Magnum has to be a pickup. Nerfing it won’t do it justice so having it be a pickup on most game modes makes the most sense.

DMR

Since Infinite’s tech flight I’ve been seeing a lot of calls for a single shot weapon to increase the skill gap. I think the DMR can fill that role the best with a few changes. Reach’s Bloom balanced the DMR, but in a way that is was just frustrating for the playerbase. Instead of having bloom the DMR should return with no bloom but with a slower fire rate matching that of a DMR with shots being paced perfectly. Not only does it remove the need for bloom to balance the gun, but it would also make it a lot less spammy. I also think that a singleshot like the DMR gives less room for error on the final shot than a BR, and that could help MNK players a bit.

Everything

Halo Infinite is gonna be here for a long time. I think it’s only right to constantly add on to it’s sandbox, even if guns fill the same role. Even now, not all guns spawn on one map, so redundancy in role imo isn’t really that much of an issue. Plus, having a bigger sandbox means there is more ways for 343, and us in the future, to curate maps and game modes to have them play the best they could. I think adding everything in can only really help the game.

I’d say all of these would fit the Sandbox very well.

I want an Impulse Hammer.

My vision is a low damage gravity hammer that throws Spartans around like the repulsor.

Edit: When I say “low damage” I mean only a direct hit is a 1hk. Otherwise it will take their shield and send them flying.

The M319 Grenade Launcher should return imo.

100% the m319 should return, and by the fact half the ammo chests have ammo for it I get a feeling it will.

Just as a side note, the SMG replaced the MA5B in Halo 2 with the introduction of the Battle Rifle, since they are basically the same gun - Recoil, accuracy, ammo capacity, etc.
The only difference is as you said the grenade launcher mode and the M7S variant introduced in Halo 3 ODST.

But onto the main topic of discussion,

M45 SHOTGUN/M90 CAWS
I miss the powerful blast you feel from a shotgun. Although the Bulldog is great in its own right, it just doesn’t fill the void that the original shotgun left.

DMR
The DMR has always been a favourite of mine and I always admired its slow-paced shots that you could land. I heard about the bloom problem in Halo Reach and like @MintFlounder470 said I think 343 should just remove the bloom on the gun and give it a slower fire rate.

M319 Grenade Launcher
We need a grenade launcher. No question.

CE Plasma Rifle: A good role to strip shields & also that Stun Effect it had

SMG: fill the role off close quarters if you’re not carrying a Sidekick & need something to fend for yourself

Grenade Launcher: Good for flushing out players in corners or in small rooms & also to go up against Vehicles such as Warthogs, Choppers & Ghosts

I wan to see the Magnum in h5 balance but with classic look, Sticky Detonator, Railgun and Plasma Rife.
These all are in already fantastic form and will hardly need to be altered.

Grav ham already works -Yoink!- Tartarus Gravel, just nerfed.

You basically uno reversed him right there.

Brute Plasma Rifle with 2 blades welded to the top and bottom of the gun.

Binary rifle: A one shot sniper with the same amount of ammo as the sniper. Although you can carry it over slightly and get a quigley easier, the more you hold the trigger the more ammo is used. Basicaly a sentinal beam but a sniper. Every half a second costs a single bullet.

Unless this weapon is for it’s own special mode. It’s one weapon I hope that never returns. I wouldn’t really call it an iconic gun either by any means. If anything, the energy sword is probably the most icon weapon in the Halo franchise. Hell, if you want a gun specifically I’d argue the Assault Rifle or Battle Rifle are more iconic. But there’s are plenty of weapons in other games that have significant highest iconic status then the Magnum.
