Hey everyone I just wanted to know everyone’s thoughts on which weapon should not come back in Infinite. This is my choice please don’t roast me. I would not like to see the brute shot come back. I feel like it’s too easy to use. I don’t like how fast you can die to it. But idk thats my opinion even though I barley gave any reasons. Whats your opinion?
Hopefully the assault rifle lol
The storm rifle. By the prophets, why did that thing need to exist? If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The plasma rifle wasn’t broken, so why did we go ahead and fix it by replacing it with the storm rifle?

Well now you’re just being silly… seriously though, this one actually is already confirmed since it was in the game play demo.
Why would I want weapons to be removed in the first place? I prefer to keep them all there with no removals if possible. Just because I personally don’t like a specific weapon it doesn’t justify its removal.
Concussion Rifle it isn’t a bad weapon but the Brute Shot looks better and does the same thing.

For the campaign, no reason. Multiplayer, weapon redundancy.
Probably the Plasma Caster should not return. It fills a similar role to the Brute Shot, and I would prefer to see it return since the Brutes are back.

I agree with the storm rifle, and I think the supressor should be gone, if its not already. These two guns werent bad in halo 5, but they sucked in halo 4.
Based on what we have seen of Halo Infinites sandbox so far. The SAW.
The SAW in Halo 4/5 is the only weapon in Halo history I consider to be totally broken even by power weapon standards. Its utterly brainless with no meaningful weaknesses outside of staying at a significant distance and at the end of the day it is just another bullet hose. We don’t need 2 bullet hoses let alone 4, especially one that is as broken as the SAW and we already have a bullet hose in the form of the AR by the looks of things.
The SAW would have to have a massive overhaul to how it performs in order for me to want to see it stay.

Still, all weapons can be tweaked and complete change the way they behave to still be in the game and not be redundant. Removing is the easiest way and perhaps the laziest, but no weapon is unchangeable.

Isn’t it obvious? The plasma rifle is an iconic staple of Bungie’s Halo games so of course when 343 took over they thought they could do better and changed or redesigned everything just for the sake of it. Needless to say, the storm rifle is not a worthy successor to the plasma rifle, and neither is that new uninspired ‘pulse carbine’. What do they have against the plasma rifle that they seemingly refuse to bring it back?

But IMO the Plasma Caster was really unique in H5.
I liked how it shot bouncy balls and then charging it up launched a cluster bomb. It was very unique
Remove the storm rifle and bring back the classic plasma rifle.

If they were to bring in 7+ type of pistol only 3 have any real difference. Ce is Op, Reach is medium firepower and 5 whisper is fast fire, the other 4 are redundant. Same reason why there arguments for axing the DMR. You have in 5 the Ar and Br. Both do well mid to long range why use a DMR if it purpose is fulfilled by the two others?

I was kind of being silly, I hated the gun in Reach and Halo 3 but actually kind of love it in Halo 4, when I made that comment I hadn’t played Halo 4. But now that I’ve played 4 I can agree that the Storm Rifle is terrible, I like the sound of it shooting.

No worries I was just joking around. Agree the AR in H3 was not at its best. I did enjoy it in Reach though.
But yeah the Storm Rifle has been a pretty rough addition to the sandbox. If the plasma rifle never existed, I’d say it was a below average mass-appeal weapon, but a somewhat reasonable addition to the sandbox. But since the plasma rifle does exist, the Storm Rifle becomes completely pointless and unecessary.

As for the pulse carbine, I’m willing to give it a shot before I say it’s no good. I agree that I don’t know wh the plasma rifle isn’t back in full force, but I’ll still let the pulse carbine either impress me or let me down before I call it garbage.
I would say the Focus Rifle, Plasma Repeater/Storm Rifle (they’re basically the same thing) and the Scattershot.
The Focus Rifle just plain sucks. Snipers are supposed to kill quickly and efficiently, and not reveal themselves while doing so. Meanwhile, the Focus Rifle:
-takes more than a second to kill, and that’s if you manage to keep on target the whole time
-the beam is extremely visible and can be seen from quite a distance, giving your position away immediately
-the beam is very LOUD, easily letting someone know they’re being shot at
-it overheats very quickly, making it impossible to get efficient multi-kills with it
-there was no reason to include this thing over the Beam Rifle
The Plasma Repeater and Storm Rifle are just redundant. There’s already a generic automatic rifle in the game, we don’t need an alien-looking one. Their purpose was to compete with the Assault Rifle, but that’s what the Plasma Rifle is for. That said, I really hope the Brute Plasma Rifle returns in Infinite, and with a more “Brutish” design (maybe a bayonet on the bottom?).
Much like the above, the Scattershot is just redundant. We already had a Shotgun, and it killed pretty well. Even the new Bulldog shown in the demo, controversial as it is, seems to be pretty decent. Why bother making another, non-hitscan shotgun? To me, this weapon is the poster child of everything wrong with the weapon sandboxes in Halo 4 and 5: too may weapons in the same niche.
Now if any of these weapons were retooled to work differently and fill a unique niche in the sandbox I’d be all for them returning, but as they are, they should just stay behind.

The focus rifle wasn’t meant to be a replica of the sniper rifle, and as such isn’t meant to fit the sniper niche
A lot of people wants the brute shot to return in Infinite, but i don’t, it left me traumatized by playing LASO campaigns.

A small price to pay for salvation.
By far The SAW! The most OP, broken gun in the game (and in Halo 4) that in my opinion has no place in the sandbox. I agree with WerepyreND that it would have to be massively changed for me to want it back.
I also hate the lottery cannon err I mean the Scattershot. Probably the most inconsistent weapon I’ve ever seen in Halo, and maybe even in any FPS. I would toss it as well. It’s not needed.
Yeah I know I said two guns, lol
