What we need to replace Warzone in Halo 6.

Remember Invasion? That epic 6 v 6 game mode where Spartans and Sangheili went toe to toe? Imagine that, 12 v 12, with Marines, Grunts, Hunters, Cyclops Mechs, and everything else awesome. We could go to space above Arcadia in Broadswords and Seraphs, we could fight for the ODG stations on Reach, could fight in all out war against the Brutes on Installation 00 with the dreaded Flood interrupting. Does that not sound awesome? The evolution of Invasion that Warzone should have been?

So you’re essentially talking about what Battlefront 3 was supposed to be…

It sounds somewhat possible if you ask me. You have the basis there in the form of Warzone Assault and Warzone Firefight. Combine those and you get half the deal: An Invasion type aspect with AI accompanying and/or fighting you. I’m not sure about the fighting in space stuff, however. Seems like a bit too much for the servers to handle, especially taking stuff like the REQ system into account should it be present (and if it isn’t, then where would you get your weapons from? Unlocks? Cause they could make that P2P really easily). Other than that, it sounds good.

I don’t know. I’d like Warzone, but with drastically different map design and objectives from what we have now.

I don’t share your fond memories of Invasion, but I can certainly see how elements of it could lend themselves to the Warzone formula.

To say that Warzone should have been an evolution of Invasion is a bold stance to take. Maybe Invasion was more popular than I remember, but even if it was it certainly never pulled in the numbers like Big Team, or Heavies. And I’d say that those are the game modes from which WZ rightly evolved. Obviously there’s always room for improvement in something as big and as complex as WZ, but I wouldn’t want to see everything we have now (WZ, WZA, and WZFF) scrapped in favor of just one variant no matter how awesome it might prove to be. If that’s what you were suggesting…

An invasion warzone variant would be amazing with AIs on both sides!

Also I like Saesee tin as a character in star wars , so I get your direct reference

Or like what if there was a 32 v 32 mode like in BF4 were all hell broke loose. And maybe we could play as different Covenant/Forerunner characters too. That would be awesome…

this sounds more fun than current warzone

That would be a neat addition, but i would like to keep warzone around its so fun.

Just having elites with Invasion back is still better

Warzone in and of itself is large scale BTB with odd and often annoying objectives. Personally I think we don’t need it. Bigger BTB would fill its spot. The reason I suggested an evolution to Invasion is that it can fill a niche in the market that has been left open by our old friend Star Wars Battlefront. Right now, there isn’t a console game that offers large scale PVP with AI support. Through this, we could create a place for new fans, Sangheili fans, and maybe even fans that enjoy Warzone. The fans of Warzone would most likely split between this game mode and classic BTB. Also, if you think about it, Warzone Assault is Invasion without Elites.

Warzone Firefight just needs to be called something other than Firefight. It’s its own thing.

This sounds like MOBA elements, almost.

Indnt they need to replace it; Warzone is one of the few things they have going for them, but it just needs some adjustments. We have Warzone Invasion, like how we have a mode for Assault. I loved Invasion, so I’m all for it.

You’d be correct in saying it wasn’t terribly popular. Although a fun game mode in my personal opinion, it never drew the numbers the other big team playlists did.

In thinking about it, isn’t Warzone Assault essentially Invasion? Sure, there isn’t switching sides and no Elites/core extraction, but it’s damn near close with progressive base capture, timed rounds, and better guns as you advance. Maybe modify WZA to be more like Invasion? I think that would be fun. Maybe call it Warzone Invasion too to appeal to the Reach crowd.

Can we make it a lot bigger? Like, A LOT bigger? Like TES Online big in terms of map size and player count?

Only if you want no campaign, the entire MP system stripped and to have to keep going though gates to reduce loading times, which pointlessifies moving quickly. Halo isn’t made for big scale servers. It would be a whole new game.

I’d go for a whole new game!

I don’t think WZ should be replaced. Invasion would be cool to have but we don’t need to rid of a good MP game.

Yeah me too, I would play the hell out of a planet like Requim, covvies vs unsc large scale live action war. Base building as well perhapes, like playing Halo Wars but 343 controls the teams bases and general orders but the players are the actual orbit. If one team has no bases, 343 drops us off by setting pelican spawns to drop us off.

But not for halo 6, because I want my FPS too :3
