> I mean Im not trying to be pro or anti rank here. I just don’t see why visible Rank was a big deal, from what I herd invisible rank was a way to keep modding and cheating in control (correct me if im wrong). and wouldn’t rank only matter if you back it up with performence in a match?, if not then enlighten me :),

Exactly. I posted this in another forum thread and it really sums up a lot. There is a lot more about this issue then some “visible number” by a name.
> Person 1: Aw yeah I just got a 50 in Halo 4!
> Person 2: Where’s your proof?
> Person 1: uhhhhhhhhhhh
And if you just owned them over and over again in the game well then BOOM! You just proved yourself. The other person at that point can say nothing. No “level number” is needed.
If some random dude just owned you and you come back with “I’m a 50 you just lucky” all that proves is the number system is flawed and not factual.
Why?
Ummmm, you just got owned, served, beaten, destroyed, and drank big can of whoopYoink, signed and delivered by that person. Your “number” is bogus (maybe even boosted). Think we can start calling it the Bogoboost Number, which I predict will turn out to be a huge pandemic in Halo 4.
All the “proof” one WILL ever, ever, ever, need to “brag” themselves up is playing well and winning that game. Just like the old saying, “What you done for me lately?”
In all honesty, and not being mean, but if a person needs to have a number by their name to “brag” to all those playing, there is something much, much, much more serious at the heart of this issue then a Visible Rank.
As a health care practioner, I really have to ask that person to pause and think about what is going on in their life and mental health. Maybe even visit http://www.more-selfesteem.com/
Life is short. Life is precious. Video games are not healthy if taken to the extreme of worrying about a number next to your name.
