I actually liked this game a lot more than most of the Halo community, but I know that it has some pretty big flaws. What was your least favorite aspect/character/thing?
In the same boat as you OP.
The worst thing for me was what seemed to be a halting or slowing of the Chief’s character progressing. He did converse a lot more with Blue Team but I feel like from where Halo 4 left off (and Escalation) his character growth came to a slow grind.
What happened to and with and about his “evolutionary acceleration” that the Librarian gave him? Was the only thing that did make him immune to the composer?
And where we saw so much personal anguish and motivation to feel in the Chief in Halo 4 surrounding Cortana and the state of the post-war UNSC it seemed to considerably slow down in Halo 5 in many ways.
Also, the way that Halo 5 continued portraying Halsey as the big bad. Yes, she did morally reprehensible things, but all of those things were done under the authority of those above her, and the things she did literally saved the Human race. She is a fantastic grey realm character, and they continue to write her fantastically so, but the dialogue around her is not so grey and fantastic, but rather black and white and dogmatic.
spartan charge !!!
The commendations for Strongholds and Breakout are a total nightmare to complete.
The sniper flash.
Lack of split-screen. My girlfriend and I mostly play other games together because of this.
Other than campaign, spartan charge and ground pound. Both are incredibly annoying.
Sprint.
It’s like the root of half the problems in the gameplay.
Scope-Glare
Speed-Boost + Spartan Charge armor mod
Spartan Charge
Spartan Charge
Spartan Charge
did I mention Spartan charge?
Spartan Charge
Not getting a hammer kill when I clearly hit first in Grifball. (happens ALOT)
Assassinations being stealed by a teammate
Insta-Splinter Grenade Kills because use the Area Denial grenade as an Insta-kill
Spawn vehicle killing/stealing
Teammates who run you over, especially when you have a req
Teammates who run into you with a vehicle and drop your shields and you get killed by an enemy.
One of the worst things in Halo 5 was the lack of development of the game. As I feel like there wasn’t any consideration for challenges in the game, how much armor would the fans want to see and things like that. I don’t think anybody wanted nor expected to have 200+ armor in the game.

Ah, I mean it’s kind of an equalizer, especially with weapons like the Fang on the field in huge warzone maps. You’d never stand a chance.
Weapon balancing, alongside 343’s inability to respond quickly to feedback and revert the franchise to classic halo. They’re pretty incompetent if you ask me.

This and - even though it’s been said more than enough - Spartan charge.
Other than these, the game is amazing. Story is pretty bad but still has potential and it also had its moments, specifically those missions where you get a chance to simply explore the locations Mass Effect-style (although those were still way too short). Music is awesome, gameplay is almost perfect and the multiplayer is incredibly addicting. All in all, it’s still a great Halo game imo.
The worst thing for me was the huge buildup I got from Hunt the Truth, then playing through the campaign waiting for it to make sense. I think overall Halo 5 was very well done except the actual campaign story and marketing.
Halo 5’s campaign is the worst part of the whole game. I can’t bare the fact that this is a bad campaign in a Halo game, you hardly play as Chief (20% of the campaign) and Hunt the Truth hardly plays a role in the story even though it was advertise heavily pre-release.
I agree with LoxtonA01. Due to the lack of story/character progression, the campaign to me felt like more of a spin-off than a sequel.
Spartan charge… You shouldn’t be able to charge someone while being shot.

It wasn’t a sequel really. All the stuff from Halo 4 happened in outside media like books and comics.
Personally I think the worst thing about Halo 5 is the pistol. I hate it and everything about it even down to the sound it makes.
I’m also terrible with it which is the main reason I hate it lmao. CE pistol all day errday cuz
