Personally**,** I hated the A.I. allies, the squad system, the fact I had to take cover every time except when there was a Warden, and zero rewards what so ever for beating Legendary except for Gamerscore, Backgrounds, Achievements, Ending, no special armour, and **GLORY (**the only good part along with the special ending). Oh, and the story it sucked (obviously). Seriously 343i, you couldn’t at least gave us the Hunter armour set or any other set that was present in the campaign. I hope Halo 6 or any other fps Halo game doesn’t have a Halo 2/Halo 5 Legendary mode (please). Oh, and don’t get me started on Halo 4 Legendary.
Well, Halo 5 Legendary is very easy (like Halo 4 and Halo 3: ODST), but I agree, we need a incentive (reward) to play the campaign…
The story /kappa

I was gonna say “The triple warden fight”, but yeah this too. Not that the ‘story’ is exclusive to Legendary mind you. Or the triple warden fight for that matter, but it was more brutal there than on Easy. The story was pretty much the same regardless of difficulty.

What does this mean?
The story, squad based gameplay (revive system and dumb spartan ai), homing weaponry, boring boss fight, useless ground pound, spartan charge and boring map design. And yeah I was pretty bummed about the lack of rewards (gamerscore and achievements are common so they don’t count), especially the armour I wear in Halo 5 is the one I got from beating MCC on Legendary (Helioskrill) and can still be unlocked through REQ packs.
Halo 4’s campaign had a better story and some gameplay elements were better, but was also boring and in a way was too easy when compared to the rest of the Halo games.

It’s a twitch emote that denotes sarcasm or other matter of fact statements. In this context this saying is used to point out that the subject of H5’s story and how it’s been criticized so thoroughly the last 2 years that it’s being employed to be a “captain obvious” response to everyone. Or another interpretation is that this is a response that is kinda comedic. Because it’s, like I said, what appears to be the most complained about aspect of the campaign and everyone knows it.
I did co-op with a person who asked me to help out and we spent 2 or 3 days on it. I think the part in the last mission where we were trapped in an arena-looking place and had to fight off waves of enemies was the hardest. Also the part where we had to fight 3 wardens.
As mentioned here: absolutely no reward besides the alternate ending, but even then, the alternate ending sucked!
Fighting the warden for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th time the 4th time wasn’t that bad because we had the (ANSWER😍) to our problem.
I might be wrong but it seems like 343i had their sole focus on multiplayer and did campaign just becauce they had to and it felt very much like i was a mercenarie rather than a soldier (with the way the missions were presented).

That’s for the explanation. I was unaware a Twitch emote had reached meme status, but I’m not usually up to date on the latest lingo the kids these days are using. I agree the story is kind of an obvious answer although I think having unlockable armor exclusively from completing it on Legendary would be really nice. If 343 didn’t think “exclusive” meant “exclusive for a limited time”…
I would say the Triple Warden in The Breaking part but fortunately, there’s a way to skip the whole scene
Anything else, I’ll say the storytelling of the campaign is what bring down the whole thing which a lot of you guys agree.
I have to admit it was more than a bit of an anticlimax. Fought with honour and vigour to achieve the Legendary solo and what do you get? Not a darn lot really.
I thought the Lone Wolf emblem was one of its exclusive rewards, but I’m sure I’ve seen players using the Lone Wolf emblem when their profile shows they’ve not finished campaign at all, let alone Legendary solo?!?!
Hey ho, for me it added to the disappointment of Halo 5. I’ll be watching the web and forums carefully before considering purchasing Halo 6 though…
I’d say fighting three wardens all at once. Did it with 3 others and took us 3-4 hours till I said screw it and cheesed it. Everything else was fairly easy though.
The Triple Warden fight.
Everything else about the game was pretty standard.
is very easy the campaing in Legendary, except the triple warden fight, well before they are debuff, now I dont know if they are hard
-
The Warden fights.
I could deal with one, but that fight is both boring and not essential, so why have it repeat like 5 times is just baffling.
You have to just stand in the back, clipping him slowly, because of the BS mechanic he has. I actually found the 3 Warden fight the most fun (yeah, feel free to call me crazy) -
Prometheans in general
I just find this whole enemy type tedious and boring to fight against.
They have no cool mechanic and they just eat too much ammo. As well as usually having to fight them with their own weapons, which suck as well.
Like, most of the time in “The Breaking” you don’t have a light rifle, so you end up playing ring around the rosie with the AI that can OHK you from Jupiter and waste a bunch of time not enjoying it a lot.
I don’t like enemies that have only one way to fight against: Spam headshots from a distance. That’s why I don’t like Destiny very much.
Seriously, people say that the H5 campaign is 100% -Yoink-, but I don’t agree.
Blue Team, Swords of Sanghelios, Enemy Lines and Battle of Sunaion (except the end) were very cool and fun to go through, in my opinion.
But you know what makes those missions stand out? Can you guess? Yep, only Covenant enemies. I think that says it all.
-
Certain checkpoints (or lack there off)
It’s just not cool to have to do a whole section of some of hardest the missions in one sitting, because the checkpoint system doesn’t let you save mid way.
And those missions weren’t “Halo 2” hard. They were just getting swarmed by a million crawlers and 5 Knights spawning on your head, so how do you pass that without cheesing it? Like that last stand scenario in “Guardians”. How am I supposed to get through there alone, with 3 mentally handicapped Spartans, without both letting them die multiple times and cheesing it on top of the little cubby.
Maybe I’m just not good enough to do it easily

Not being able to trade weapons with your team
I kind of realized that I am a bit of an oddball (no pun intended) when it comes to how I play the old Halo games.
One of my fav things to do is keep as many marines alive as possible, then arm them with Beam rifles and such, because they actually do help (especially in H2).
In H5 I was looking forward to having a more competent version of those guys with me (first mistake).
But no, you can’t switch weapons with them. You can only order them to pick up certain weapons and you can’t even decide who gets what.
So you spam the “Pick up that weapon!” command until they either drive you crazy or somehow manage to all collect exactly the weapon you want them to have.
Then when you do arm them with Binary rifles and Incineration Cannons, they just use their primary weapon most of the time.
Like: I gave you a Binary rifle for a reason, Buck! Don’t use that Magnum, dude. Snipe them with that big thing on your back! -
The Team AI path-finding
I get that dying shouldn’t be a good thing in a Halo game on Legendary, but if you offer me a revive mechanic please try and give the AI some intelligence.
So here’s a scenario: I die somewhere I shouldn’t have died. I call my team to come and pick me up. And they all somehow find the least optimal route to get to me.
I’m behind a box and a Knight is behind the corner. Vale won’t go around the box and stay in cover to come get me. No! She’ll walk straight past the Knight with a Incineration cannon and somehow expect to come out alive. And Buck just follows her like Mama Duck all the while thinking “This is not dangerous at all. Vale knows what she’s doing”.
The same thing goes for the scenario where I tell my team to focus an enemy. Don’t walk up to it until you can smell it’s breath! Shoot it from a distance. I gave you that Beam rifle for a reason!
Like, those things drove me out of my mind while I was playing and they still make me crazy
Something funny happened during my Legendary run and it’s about the Wardens. During the first fight against the Warden was nearly impossible. The room is way to small and there are no good weapons to use against the Warden. What’s the next best option? Have it unintentionally throw itself off the edge of the platform defeating the Warden and all the Prometheans with it. I’m not kidding. The Warden tried to attack me but accidentally went off the edge. Yet, I can fight the other Wardens perfectly fine. Maybe because in the other fights it’s at least a bigger area and there are at least decent weapons.

I didn’t have a lot of problems with the first Warden.
It’s a trial-and-error situation. Just try stuff until you learn enough about the room and the boss mechanics.
You need to bring a good power weapon in there (restart mission, yes), nade the first group of crawlers at spawn, get behind the Warden and shoot him from behind while he does his animation. Then you make your way up the ramp because there’s a bunch of weapons on the floating platforms, including an Incineration cannon.
Just camp that platform and hope to god he doesn’t focus you too much.
And that’s why I dislike the Warden fights. You rely on luck. Or you just spam shots slowly plucking away at him. Boring!
You can also stun him by doing a ground pound, but good luck with that playing by yourself with the “special needs spartan crew”
