Having hated Reach’s leveling system and by many others too, I fail to understand exactly as to why 343i thought it would be smart to bring a similar leveling system back in Halo 4 when a good majority of the players wanted the 1xp-per-victory system back from Halo 3.
That drive, the fact that you only received credit for a game when you won, was simply fantastic. It may have been simple, but it got the job absolutely done. You guys could have put that system for ranks and the current leveling system for unlocking armors and stuff. The two systems, working together, would have been just extraordinary. You get to please everyone, nearly.
I hope the 1-50 system being introduced next year works similarly to halo 3’s leveling system. And it needs to be in-game (who over there would even think it’s a good idea to show that number outside of the game on the web??! it’s ludicrous, ridiculous, and a bit foolish when a good amount of halo players don’t go online to check their stats. Something like that should be in-game).
Please, 343i. Look to Halo 3’s leveling system for good influence.
When I look back at it, it was fairely simple which is a good thing. You win a game, you get one exp point (or more if you played double xp).

I AGREE 100% WITH EVERY WORD RIGHT HEAR why change some thing every one loves and for the people who dont just put a social play list in with all your new game types and a ranked one with classic ranked halo game types
It was great when everyone tried their best to win.
Though it was less fun when some nutter screamed your head off for doing something wrong.
;_;
The answer is simple, People got butthurt they could never reach level 50. By leveling up even though you have lost, the player feels better about themselves, and they don’t beat themselves up for losing a rank. The only downfall to this is that most of the time you will go against a player that is way much better than you, and you will get dominated or vice versa. they really should consider bringing the old system back, because it’s a really good one.

Sadly, with the party chat system, barely anyone even talks anymore…
Sucks.
Reminds me of halo 2 system.

Agreed, it sucks. Of all the ideas they took from CoD, I wish they took the one where you need to be in game chat to play certain gametypes. Also, searching with a team doesn’t really help, because the other team will still be randoms, and the whole game will be one massive ROFLstomp. That’s not fun.
The only place to get truly competitive game is customs.

People tried too hard to get 50s. Too be honest, I could live all these things. I just think they should refine their code and stop these issues.
The end.

People went to game chat 50 high in any playlist in Halo 3. If you are talking about Halo 4, nobody cares to win, as long as they stole some double xp.
