What was going on at Argent Moon?

From the level Blue Team itself, we know the station had been abandoned for more than a year and was testing some kind of new stealth ship. Listening to the Intel however, reveals something spooky.

Some kind of compound “Asteroidea” was being tested at the facility. Apparently it was some kind of poison or toxin. Initial tests revealed all ‘subjects’ were sickened but recovered, with the scientist mentioning the need to increase toxicity. The scientist mentions the term ‘morbidity’ I think, implying it is some form of a biological weapon. Some time later, the compound vapourised and spread throughout the station, eventually killing everyone, despite Argent Moon’s AI’s best efforts.

I couldn’t quite hear everything being said and if anyone can fill in the gaps then that would be great. If anyone noticed other things within the level itself that would be cool too. I’m am pretty sure there were Kig Yar X-rays of some sort where you fight the hunters. Were they the test subjects for Asteroidea?

I didn’t really get the full gist of the intel either, but it also seemed to me that Argent Moon’s AI may have been becoming unstable. I could be wrong, but it sounded as if he gets more depressed as you find more intel.

From what I got from it, it seems like whatever experimentation going on went awry. The AI then tried to Quarantine the place. It was later found by the Covenant, they’re even stripping parts from the ships there.

Argent Moon was an ONI research station. They decided to make a biological weapon. After experimenting with it for a while they made a powerful strain, which was consequently accidently released through out the ship killing all on board.
